俄汉语言中礼貌用语对比分析

语言是文化的一部分,语言反映了文化。俄语中的礼貌用语承载了俄罗斯民族的习俗和文化传统。本文从文化语言学的角度出发,对俄汉礼貌语中的"问候用语"进行分析、概括,揭示社会文化和语境对语言的制约和影响。     

礼貌用语负迁移与英语教学

本文基于1988年10月对部分英语专业三年级学生和外籍教师进行的一次礼貌用语负迁移调查,统计了中国学生在跨文化交际中礼貌用语负迁移发生的概率;分析了产生这种母语干扰的原因;并为在英语教学中增加交际文化及语用等内容所占比例提供了理论依据。     

浅谈顺应性动态理论下商务英语信函中礼貌用语的分析

商务信函是商务交际活动中的一种书面表达文体,其中礼貌用语具有独特的特点,在商务英语信函中礼貌用语被广泛使用。不仅能够丰富语言研究,而且对商务英语信函的写作有着重要的指导作用。本文采用语境顺应论和动态顺应论为根据阐述商务英语信函中礼貌用语的使用。而语言的顺应论则是指能够让语言使用者从可供选择的项目中作灵活的变通,从而满足交际的需要。对商务英语信函的写作具有一定的指导作用。     

浅析中国英语学习者在礼貌原则下的语用失误

在跨文化交际环境中,交际双方都有一种强烈的愿望:希望交际或沟通获得成功。但是人们在使用第二语言进行会话时或多或少会受到其母语的影响,因此引起交际中的受挫或失败现象,并产生误解,甚至造成交际关系恶化现象。Thomas将这种失败定义为语用失误,并指出语用失误不是一般来自语言本身的语法错误,而是由于说话的方式不妥,或者不符合表达习惯,或说话时不合时宜。众多语言学家对语用失误进行了详细分析研究,礼貌原则便是其中一个方面。由文化背景的差异,人们对礼貌的含义有不同的理解,也对礼貌原则和社会规范各有不同。大多数人会习惯的根据自己所遵循的礼貌原则来判断交际者的语言是否礼貌。本文从礼貌原则的角度对中国英语学习者在跨文化交际中易出现的语用失误问题进行探讨,对礼貌用语在英语教学中的应用,并能有效的帮助他们恰当使用礼貌用语达到预期的交际目的。     

试析译者身份的误读与重构

翻译学不仅需要译者感受原文语境,还要构建明确的思维范式和翻译策略,成为作者和受众文化之间交流的纽带。本文采用结构主义理论,以2012年美国总统大选第三场辩论为例,分析了译者的认知结构、文化因素和身份构建的过程,并探讨了文化交际中译者的媒介作用以及其对辩论者形象的影响,从而建立译者与作者、读者和谐平等的对话机制。

本文从文化价值维度中的集体主义/个人主义、权力距离两方面分析英汉礼貌用语,探究语言与文化内涵的关系。通过研究,不仅可以看出中国和英语国家的个人主义/集体主义价值取向的不同,同时他们的权力距离也有高低之分。对礼貌用语进行文化价值维度解读,能帮助人们了解礼貌用语所反映的文化内涵,为各国的跨文化交际提供借鉴。     

“五四”文化语境与徐志摩的翻译

本文拟以“五四”文化语境为视角,从翻译选材、译语选择和翻译方法三个方而对徐志摩的翻译活动进行了探讨,目的在于说明特定时代文化语境是如何作用于译者的翻译实践活动的,从而对徐志摩的翻译进行客观、公正的评价。本文最后就文化语境提出我们进行翻译批评的策略。

从语境关系顺应、语言结构顺应、动态顺应、意识程度四个方面对礼貌现象的考察说明礼貌具有顺应性。礼貌的顺应性是指在交际活动中, 处于不同心理状态的交际者根据语境变化选择适宜的礼貌策略来表达自己的思想。忽视礼貌的顺应性是礼貌原则存在不足之处的根本原因。

Neuroscience. Where the brain monitors the body

Researchers haven't known exactly where in the brain all the signals that allow an animal to keep track of its limbs are located, but now a team may have located some of the neurons that first make these multisensory connections. On page 1782, researchers report evidence that a small region of the parietal cortex of the monkey brain known as area 5 may enable the monkey to integrate many sources of information about its body and thereby update its mental model of what the body is doing. The researchers based this conclusion on their finding that some area 5 neurons fire at their fastest rates when the visual feedback from a monkey's arm matches the sensory feedback, an indication that the neurons are sensitive to both streams of information.     

"Where" and "what" in vision

The mixture of a few horizontal and vertical line segments embedded in an aggregate of diagonal line segments can be rapidly counted and their positions rapidly determined by a parallel (preattentive) process. However, the discrimination between horizontal and vertical orientation (that is, discrimination of a single conspicuous feature) requires serial search by focal attention. Under recent theories of attention, focal attention has been assumed to be required for the recognition of different combinations of features. According to the findings of this experiment, knowing "what" even a single feature is requires time-consuming search by focal attention. Only knowing "where" a target it is mediated by a parallel process.

Where Pakistan Stands Among Top Rice Exporting Countries,an Analysis of Competitiveness

Under the umbrella of WTO, the reduction in trade barriers has forced the policy makers to focus on the export competitiveness. Rice is an important source for foreign exchange earnings for the economy of Pakistan, keeping in mind of this fact, the competitiveness of Pakistan’s rice with other major exporters was examined by applying revealed competitive advantage. The domestic consumption trends of rice among the major rice exporting countries were also analyzed in the current study. The results revealed that as compare to other major exporters of rice in the world, Pakistan had high competitive and comparative advantage in the production of rice. The comparison of the movements in comparative advantage indices for Pakistan with the major world rice competitors/exporters showed that Pakistan possessed relatively high comparative and competitive advantages in rice production. The declining domestic per capita consumption of rice and increasing trends in competitiveness for Pakistan clearly revealed the expected potential of higher growth which meant that rice exports from Pakistan could continue to play an important role for the earnings of foreign exchange. In order to exploit the potential benefits of rice exports, we need to strengthen the competitiveness in rice sector of Pakistan.
