A recrystallized form of enrofloxacin as dehydrate‐HCl (enro‐C) was assessed for bacteriological and clinical cure efficacies in Holstein‐Friesian cows affected of nonsevere clinical mastitis. Treatments were enro‐Csusp (n = 81), treated with a pharmaceutical suspension of enro‐C/quarter; group enro‐Cpd (n = 80) treated as above, but using enro‐C powder suspended in water; group CF (n = 65), treated with ceftiofur HCl/quarter; and group enroR (n = 66), treated with standard enrofloxacin solution (5 mg/kg, intramuscular). Cows had a mean milk production of 31 L/day and were 2‐3 lactational periods old. Treatments were administered every 24 hr for 3 days. Groups treated with enro‐C exhibited statistically significant (p > .05) better clinical cure as compared to groups treated with CF or enroR (95.06%, 96.25%, 67.79%, and 57.55%, for enro‐Csusp, enro‐Cpd, CF, and enroR, respectively). In contrast, probability of bacteriological cure was not statistically different among treatments. Yet, the outstanding clinical and bacteriological cure rates obtained for enro‐C for nonsevere cases of mastitis is superior to previously reported data for parenteral enrofloxacin and other antibacterial‐intramammary treatments. Impact of using enro‐C on the rate and pattern of bacterial resistance, somatic cell counts and milk electric conductivity, must be studied. Also, the use of enro‐C for complicated cases of mastitis should be studied and milk withdrawal times must be accurately established.  相似文献

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effectiveness of enrofloxacin (ERFX) as a second‐line antibiotic for treatment of acute Escherichia coli (E. coli) mastitis. Forty‐two cows with naturally occurring acute E. coli mastitis were enrolled. On the first day of treatment (day 0), empirically selected antibiotics (oxytetracycline: n = 32, kanamycin: n = 10) were administered. Although systemic signs improved in 10 cows (first‐line group), the signs remained unchanged or worsened in 32 cows on day 1, including two cows that were found dead. The 30 surviving cows were randomly assigned to second‐line groups constituting an ERFX group (n = 19) or a control group (n = 11) that was treated with other antibiotics. Response to each treatment was evaluated by measuring clinical signs from day 0 to day 3, subsequent quarter milk recovery, and the 60‐day survival rate. Appetite on day 3 was significantly better in the ERFX group compared to the control group. No significant differences were observed in the 60‐day survival rate or the subsequent milk recovery between the ERFX group and the control group. Thus, the use of ERFX as a second‐line antibiotic for the treatment of acute E. coli mastitis could induce a rapid appetite recovery.  相似文献

ObjectivesTo evaluate the cardiorespiratory and biochemical effects of ketamine-propofol (KP) or guaifenesin-ketamine-xylazine (GKX) anesthesia in donkeys.Study designProspective crossover trial.AnimalsEight healthy, standard donkeys, aged 10 ± 5 years and weighing 153 ± 23 kg.MethodsDonkeys were premedicated with 1.0 mg kg?1 of xylazine (IV) in both treatments. Eight donkeys were administered ketamine (1.5 mg kg?1) and propofol (0.5 mg kg?1) for induction, and anesthesia was maintained by constant rate infusion (CRI) of ketamine (0.05 mg kg?1 minute?1) and propofol (0.15 mg kg?1 minute?1) in the KP treatment. After 10 days, diazepam (0.05 mg kg?1) and ketamine (2.2 mg kg?1) were administered for induction, and anesthesia was maintained by a CRI (2.0 mL kg?1 hour?1) of ketamine (2.0 mg mL?1), xylazine (0.5 mg mL?1) and guaifenesin (50 mg mL?1) solution. Quality of anesthesia was assessed along with cardiorespiratory and biochemical measurements.ResultsAnesthetic induction took longer in GKX than in KP. The induction was considered good in 7/8 with KP and in 6/8 in GKX. Anesthetic recovery was classified as good in 7/8 animals in both treatments. Xylazine administration decreased heart rate (HR) in both treatments, but in KP the HR increased and was higher than GKX throughout the anesthetic period. Respiratory rate was higher in GKX than in KP. PaO2 decreased significantly in both groups during the anesthetic period. Glucose concentrations [GLU] increased and rectal temperature and PCV decreased in both treatments. Arterial lactate [LAC] increased at recovery compared with all time points in KP. [GLU] and calcium were higher in GKX than in KP at recovery.Conclusion and clinical relevanceThese protocols induced significant hypoxemia but no other cardiorespiratory or metabolic changes. These protocols could be used to maintain anesthesia in donkeys, however, they were not tested in animals undergoing surgery.  相似文献

为了探讨国内新近研制的氟喹诺酮类长半减期药物洛美沙星(Lomefloxacin)对鸡葡萄球菌病的疗效进行了本研究。以试管2倍稀释法测定洛美沙星及对照药对金黄色葡萄球菌的最小抑菌浓度,然后用洛美沙星、环丙沙星、恩诺沙星进行饮水给药5d的疗效试验。结果表明,洛美沙星、环丙沙星、恩诺沙星、诺氟沙星、红霉素对鸡金黄色葡萄球菌C56011株的最小抑菌浓度分别为1.0、0.125、0.25、1.0、32mg/L。25、50、100mg/L洛美沙星饮水给药对鸡葡萄球菌病的治愈率分别为66.7%、80%、76.7%,有效率分别为90%、96.7%、96.7%。50mg/L环丙沙星、恩诺沙星的治愈率则分别为76.7%、80%,有效率分别为93.3%、96.7%。50、100mg/L洛美沙星及50mg/L恩诺沙星3个饮水给药组鸡的增重显著高于感染对照组。  相似文献

The study was carried out to evaluate the pharmacokinetic disposition of enrofloxacin (ENF) with a single dose of 20 mg/kg after oral administration in largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) at 28°C. The concentrations of ENF and of its metabolite ciprofloxacin (CIP) in plasma, liver, and muscle plus skin in natural proportions were determined using HPLC. The concentration–time data for ENF in plasma were best described by a two-compartment open model. After oral administration, the maximum ENF concentration (Cmax) of 10.99 μg/ml was obtained at 0.60 hr. The absorption half-life (T1/2Ka) of ENF was calculated to be 0.07 hr whereas the elimination half-life (T1/2β) of the drug was 90.79 hr. The estimates of area under the plasma concentration–time curve (AUC) and apparent volume of distribution (Vd/F) were 1,185.73 μg hr/ml and 2.21 L/kg, respectively. ENF residues were slowly depleted from the liver and muscle plus skin of largemouth bass with the T1/2β of 124.73 and 115.14 hr, respectively. Very low levels of ciprofloxacin were detected in the plasma and tissues. A withdrawal time of 24 days was necessary to ensure that the residues of ENF + CIP in muscle plus skin were less than the maximal residue limit (MRL) of 100 μg/kg established by the European Union.  相似文献

Abstract

Liquid smoke and sodium lactate (NaL) were evaluated as inhibitors to control microbial growth in Alaskan native-style smoked and dried salmon strips. Brined salmon strips were dipped in aqueous solutions of liquid smoke (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) or NaL (20%, 40%) and then inoculated with 3000 CFU of Staphylococcus aureus/100 g sample prior to drying in a laboratory smoke house without application of smoke, at 30°C for 5 days. S. aureus populations increased to 105/g in non-dipped control samples, 4.5 × 103/g in 20%, and 4.6 × 102/g in 40% NaL samples. Liquid smoke was not effective at a concentration of 25%, but reduced S. aureus levels below detectable limits when used at higher concentrations. When the additives were tested by a processor in Alaska, aerobic populations were less than 30 CFU/g with 30% NaL and 50% liquid smoke and the water activity (aw) of these finished products was below 0.85, a level that would inhibit further microbial growth. Processors should test their products for microbiological populations, WPS and aw until they can show that their process is adequate to control bacterial pathogens.  相似文献

旨在探讨乳酸锌对猪空肠上皮细胞增殖及相关调控基因ZnT2、DMT1、IREG-1、MT1和ZIP4 mRNA表达的影响.用乳酸锌的锌浓度分别为50、100、150、200 mg·L-1的培养基培养IPEC-J2细胞,采用比色法测定分析细胞增殖变化;用实时荧光定量RT-PCR方法检测Zn T2、DMT1、IREG-1、MT1及ZIP4 mRNA表达,以TBPmRNA的表达水平作为内参对照.在细胞培养前36 h,乳酸锌对IPEC-J2细胞基本没有影响,随锌浓度递增细胞增殖幅度升高;乳酸锌处理IPEC-J2细胞后,Zn T2、DMT1、IREG-1及MT1 mRNA表达随锌浓度增高而升高,ZIP4 mRNA表达则随锌浓度增高而降低.添加乳酸锌可以促进IPEC-J2细胞增殖,上调ZnT2、DMT1、IREG-1、 MT1 mRNA表达,下调ZIP4 mRNA表达.  相似文献
