Evidence of pAgK84 transfer from Agrobacterium rhizogenes K84 to natural pathogenic Agrobacterium spp. in an Italian peach nursery

Nine Italian peach nurseries, which use Agrobacterium rhizogenes strain K84 to protect plants from crown gall, were monitored for three years with the aim of determining whether transconjugant populations may arise following plasmid exchanges between K84 and autochtonous soil agrobacteria. Six hundred and seventy-eight Agrobacterium isolates were obtained from 120 tumours developed on apricot and peach rootstocks that had been treated in pre-planting with the antagonist. Agrobacteria were characterized for pathogenicity, biovar, opine catabolism and agrocin 84 sensitivity. Colony hybridization was used for screening the isolates harbouring plasmids pTi and/or pAgK84. Analysis of plasmid content and Southern blotting were performed on putative transconjugant agrobacteria found in tumours collected from one nursery where a biological control breakdown was observed. The RFLP analysis of 16S + IGS regions showed that pAgK84 was transferred from the antagonist to virulent and avirulent soil agrobacteria belonging to different ribotypes. Pathogenic transconjugants, inoculated on GF677 rootstocks, were not controlled in vivo by K84 and stably maintained pTi and pAgK84 in the bacterial cells for at least one year. At the end of a biocontrol trial, new transconjugant tumorigenic agrobacteria originated by the transfer of pAgK84 to the pathogen. Virulent and avirulent transconjugants may represent a real threat for biological control by K84 strain since all of them produced agrocin and were insensitive to it. Survival in soil of these populations could make the future application of K84 ineffective.

氨基酸生物配比及外源核苷对雏鸡肝脏核酸含量的影响

以NRC推荐的赖Aa为基准 ,以各种Aa对应的密码子使用频率的比率来确定饲料配方中各主要Aa之间的生物配比。在添加外源核苷酸的条件下 ,雏鸡肝脏中核酸含量明显增加 ,34日龄对照组与试验Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ、Ⅴ组鸡肝脏中总RNA含量分别为 (34 5 7.3± 146 .4)、(380 0 .7± 16 5 .6 )、(3814.8± 170 .4)、(36 15 .1± 2 17.2 )、(4 785 .4± 12 2 .9)和 (4 916 .0± 2 0 7.1) μg·g-1。结果显示 ,外源核苷酸在家禽体内能被利用 ,且在氨基酸比例趋于平衡时 ,RNA总量有所增加。     

元宝枫生药学研究

本文对元宝枫的根皮、幼芽、叶、嫩枝、果实进行了组织学观察研究。并对各部位所含鞣质进行了定性测定。对种仁所含蛋白质、油进行了显微化学测定。     

Physiological Performance of Wheat (Triticum aestivum dwarf.) Under Irrigated Situation

The objective was to study the behaviour of 20 dwarf wheats in a field trial under irrigated situation and also to suggest parameters or group of parameters conducive to high yield. Considerable variability existed in respect of tillering and earing, LAI, net photosynthetic rate, total dry matter production rate (TDMPR), harvest index, number of grains per main and subsidiary ears and grain size (1000 grain weight). Number of grains per main and subsidiary ears, total grains per plant, rate of net photosynthesis, leaf area and harvest index as well as total dry matter production rates were found to be positively correlated with grain yield and as such contributed maximum towards grain yield.
Thus, in general, it may be concluded that there should be minimum reduction in grain numbers between the main ear and the subsidiary ears, for this seems to be the one of causes of reduction in grain yield. Besides, there ought to be high ratio between net photosynthetic rate and dark respiration because large amount of dry matter is otherwise lost through respiration and many not be available for grains. High harvest index and high biological yield are also desirable characters which may be combined to obtain higher yields in wheats.

以猪胆囊壁组织作为生物膜,用ZT胶粘合的方法,修补兔食管壁人造缺损创10例,对兔肝、脾人工致伤断面进行粘贴止血15个样本。结果,前者成功7例,食管壁缺损创得到修复,愈合良好,且无食管狭窄现象;后者15个样本的止血效果都很确实,并对创面起到了保护作用,有利于创面的愈合。

Various protein and albumin corrections of the serum fructosamine concentration in the diagnosis of canine diabetes mellitus

Fructosamines are formed when glucose reacts non-enzymatically with amino groups on proteins, and previous studies have indicated that the serum fructosamine concentration could be of importance in the diagnosis of canine diabetes mellitus. Owing to the connection between the protein/albumin concentration and serum fructosamine concentration, it has been suggested that the serum fructosamine concentration should be corrected for the protein/albumin concentration. Thus, the purpose of the present study was to evaluate the uncorrected serum fructosamine concentration and various protein and albumin corrections of the serum fructosamine concentration in the separation of dogs with diabetes mellitus from dogs with other diseases that presented with clinical signs suggestive of diabetes mellitus. The evaluation was assisted by relative operating characteristic curves (ROC curves), which may be used to compare various diagnostic tests under equivalent conditions (equal true positive ratios or false positive ratios) and over the entire range of cutoff values. A total of 58 dogs (15 dogs with diabetes mellitus and 43 dogs with other diseases) were included in the study. Serum fructosamine concentration, serum total protein concentration and serum albumin concentration were measured in each dog, and various corrections of the serum fructosamine concentration for protein or albumin concentration were made. Comparing the ROC curves of the uncorrected and each corrected serum fructosamine concentration indicated that there was no decisive difference between the uncorrected and the corrected serum fructosamine concentrations in discriminating between dogs with and without diabetes mellitus. Hence, correcting the serum fructosamine concentration as a routine procedure cannot be advocated from the results of the study. Moreover, the sensitivity and specificity of the uncorrected serum fructosamine concentration were very high, 0.93 and 0.95, respectively, further evidence of the value of the uncorrected serum fructosamine concentration in the diagnosis of canine diabetes mellitus.Abbreviations SFC serum fructosamine concentration - SFC-P serum fructosamine concentration corrected for the actual serum total protein concentration - SFC-A serum fructosamine concentration corrected for the actual serum albumin concentration - SFC-Po serum fructosamine concentration corrected for the actual serum total protein concentration, only when the serum total protein concentration is outside the reference interval - SFC-Ao serum fructosamine concentration corrected for the actual serum albumin concentration, only when the serum albumin concentration is outside the reference interval - SFC-K serum fructosamine concentration corrected according to Kawamotoet al. 茄子黄萎菌生物学特性及初侵来源的初步研究

对采自呼和浩特市和包头市郊区黄萎病的5个菌株,通过茄茎柱、杏干培养基和30℃下生长的观察,确定呼、包郊区茄黄萎病菌均属大丽菊轮枝菌(Verticillium dahliae Kleb)。对其生物学特性研究证明:菌丝生长最低温度为5℃,适温范围为22.5～25.0℃,以22.5℃生长最适,最高生长温度为33℃。孢子萌发适温为25.0℃。菌丝在 pH4～9范围内均可生长,以 pH6生长最适。菌丝碳源营养中甘露醇、葡萄糖和可溶性淀粉生长最适。初侵来源试验表明:土壤、病残体中的微菌核、厚垣孢子和休眠菌丝体是呼、包两市茄黄萎病的初侵来源。种子不是初侵染来源。
