杜仲是我国特有名贵中药,能降血压、抗衰老、增强人体免疫。而且杜仲全身是宝,皮、叶、果、木材均有重要的医疗、保健和工业用途,仅叶就可以进行三级开发,形成高附加值的独立产业。加之该树种耐寒、耐旱,并能在土壤全盐1.6 % 的环境中正常生长,这又为干旱、半干旱及盐渍地区绿化造林、保持水土、改良盐渍提供了一种难得的优良树种。所以大力发展杜仲产业,将会在甘肃经济建设和西部大开发中发挥重要的生态效益、经济效益和社会效益。
