Abstract:Effect of 60Co γ-rays irradiation on molecular weight, viscosity and antioxidant of hyaluronic acid (HA) were studied in this research. The results showed that molecular weight and viscosity of irradiated HA decreased,  the scavenging ability of hydroxyl radicals (OH·) and superoxide radicals (O2·) weakened gradually with the increasing of irradiation dose. However, the DPPH· scavenging ability and reducing power increased with the increasing of irradiation dose. The quality and appearance of HA did not change significantly after irradiation, but the rheology enhanced. The infrared spectra structure of HA did not show significant change after irradiation.
