| Abstract: | The relevance theory thinks that verbal communication is a kind of ostensive - inferential process. According to relevance theory and cognitive context assumption, the paper sums up the assumption of the cognitive rules and charac- teristics of reading comprehension and discusses how to use the correct association to understand the utterance in the com- munication in the English teaching. |
