In this study, we aimed to clarify the mechanism of sinking death during the larval stage of Pacific Bluefin tuna Thunnus orientalis by investigating the effects of swimming performance on sinking death, using a behavioral approach. Swimming performance was examined 3–9 days after hatching (DAH) under day and night light conditions in cuboid experimental tanks. Swimming behavior variables such as swimming speed and swimming angle were measured under both light conditions. Larvae in the daytime experiment and larvae with inflated swim bladders at night were distributed on the surface layer of the water column. In contrast, larvae with uninflated swim bladders at night were frequently observed swimming vertically or sinking to the bottom of the tank. Larvae with inflated swim bladders at night were always distributed beneath the surface until the next morning (survival rates were 100 %). However, larvae with uninflated swim bladders at night swam upward repeatedly and later sank to the bottom of the tank (survival rates were 60 % and 38 % at 5 and 9 DAH, respectively). Larvae with uninflated swim bladders were not always able to maintain their swimming depth by swimming until the next morning. Additionally, their swimming speed and vertical swimming frequency (ratio) depended on the illumination and swim bladder conditions. Our findings show that larvae with uninflated swim bladders at night were associated with a higher risk of sinking death. The swimming energy capacity of Pacific Bluefin tuna larvae, which indicates the total amount of the energy that enables individuals to swim throughout the night without feeding, was found to be linked to sinking death.  相似文献

为了解黄条鰤(Seriola aureovittata)早期发育阶段的消化生理特性,测定了黄条鰤胚胎、仔稚幼鱼阶段脂肪酶、淀粉酶、胰蛋白酶和碱性磷酸酶活性变化。结果显示,在黄条鰤仔鱼出膜前胚胎阶段,即能检测到脂肪酶、淀粉酶和碱性磷酸酶活性;初孵仔鱼体内(1 d)初次检测出胰蛋白酶的活性。脂肪酶和碱性磷酸酶比活力在仔鱼孵化后迅速增强(P<0.05),在4 d开口时,2种酶比活力达最高值;淀粉酶比活力在7 d时达最大值;胰蛋白酶比活力在仔鱼阶段缓慢上升,15 d时比活力最大。稚鱼阶段内脏团中脂肪酶、碱性磷酸酶和胰蛋白酶活性基本维持稳定,幼鱼阶段内脏团脂肪酶、碱性磷酸酶和胰蛋白酶活性都呈现上升趋势;稚鱼和幼鱼阶段内脏团中淀粉酶活性下降并基本稳定于较低水平。研究表明,黄条鰤仔稚幼鱼发育过程中,各种消化酶活性变化明显,且与其发育阶段和食性密切相关。在尚未摄食饵料的早期仔鱼体内已存在消化酶,认为其是母源传递而来,不是由外源性饵料所致;幼鱼阶段内脏团脂肪酶、碱性磷酸酶和胰蛋白酶比活力明显提高,这反映出随苗种生长发育,其肠道结构和消化机能逐渐完善,并且对脂肪、蛋白质的需求逐渐增强。  相似文献

A total of 15 pools were selected from a greenhouse, and they were randomly and evenly divided into three groups. In each group, one stocking density of Eriocheir sinensis was arranged. The results showed that after 45-d culture, the crab number per kilogram reached about 300 with survival rate of about 20%; the initial stocking density had significantly effect on the body size of E. sinensis on sel , instead on the survival rate of E. sinensis larvae. Therefore, it is feasible to conduct the culture of E. sinensis larvae in a pool in greenhouse.  相似文献

The effect ofDendrolimus superans on growth of trees was investigated after the breakout in Shibazhan forest area in 1990. Stem analysis was conducted for determining the tree increment loss. The result showed that the current annual increment for extreme heavily damaged, heavily damaged, moderately damaged and lightly damaged stands is 14%, 39.8%, 64% and 82% of that of the control forest respectively. An experiment was conducted to evaluate the rearing performance of different larval stages for optimum growth and survival during fingerling production of Clarias batrachus with an aim to reduce the rearing time of the catfish larvae in a hatchery system. The larvae were reared for 5, 10 and 15 days before stocking them in the nursery tanks. No significant (< 0.05) difference could be found in length increment at the end of first week of rearing. But the total length was reduced during rest three weeks in five days old larvae compared to that of other two higher age groups. In 5 days old larvae the reduced weight (< 0.05) was observed during the entire rearing period. However, the specific growth rate (SGR) did not vary among the groups. The survival rate as well as total biomass was decreased while stocking five days old larvae for rearing, compared to that of other two age groups.  相似文献

Applied methods for larval rearing suffer from the difficulty of accurately predicting larvae quantitative feeding requirements for optimum growth. Even when known, requirements change according to the behavior of each population reared. Computer based feeding systems require tools for adapting the delivered amounts of food to the needs of the reared population. In this work the daily feeding requirements of sea bream (Sparus aurata) larvae were estimated, and based on these estimations a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) for feeding was designed and developed. Sea bream larvae were reared, in triplicate, under intensive conditions in a pilot scale rearing system for 20 days with the pseudo-green water method. Larvae reached 6.7±0.6 mm (mean value and S.D.) at the end of the experimental period while the mean survival of the populations was 48.0±12.6%. Consumption was 0.017±0.009 mg of carbon per individual at first feeding and increased to 0.198±0.032 mg at day 20 post-hatching. The findings were used for the development of a FLC for feeding that adapts the amount of food delivered to the larvae according to changes in the reared population. The FLC utilizes five linguistic variables describing the state of the population and a rule base composed of 316 rules. The developed FLC allows the use of computer based feeding systems during rearing of early larval stages.  相似文献

侧柏毒蛾 (ParocneriafurvaLeech)是柏类园林树木的主要害虫之一 ,笔者利用Iwao等 11种方法对其幼虫的空间分布进行了测定。结果表明 :侧柏毒蛾幼虫在林间属于聚集分布 ,且符合负二项分布 ,由此得出了林间理论抽样数公式 ,且林间抽样方式以棋盘式最好。  相似文献

测定了老鸦皮氯仿提取物对3龄菜青虫的拒食活性,其中包括选择拒食和完全拒食。结果表明老鸦皮氯仿提取物对3龄菜青虫有较强的拒食活性,24 h,48 h,72 h选择性拒食作用的拒食中浓度(AFC50)为54.13 mg/L,170.97 mg/L和143.51 mg/L,完全拒食作用的拒食中浓度(AFC50)为784.07 mg/L,382.75 mg/L和259.76mg/L。且对拒食后试虫生长发育有严重的影响。药效试验结果显示选择拒食作用和完全拒食作用的药剂在2 000mg/L时拒食率很高,几乎达到100%,125 mg/L时选择拒食作用的拒食率比较高,达到50%以上,而完全拒食作用的拒食率不到10%。  相似文献
