Tubulointerstitial nephritis antigen-like 1 (Tinagl1, also known as adrenocortical zonation factor 1 [AZ-1]
or lipocalin 7) is a matricellular protein. Previously, we demonstrated that Tinagl1 expression was restricted
to extraembryonic regions during the postimplantation period and detected marked expression in mouse
Reichert’s membranes. In uteri, Tinagl1 is markedly expressed in the decidual endometrium during the
postimplantation period, suggesting that it plays a physical and physiological role in embryo development
and/or decidualization of the uterine endometrium during pregnancy. In the present study, in order to
determine the role of Tinagl1 during embryonic development and pregnancy, we generated
Tinagl1-deficient mice. Although Tinagl1–/– embryos were not
lethal during development to term, homologous matings of Tinagl1–/– females and
Tinagl1–/– males showed impaired fertility during pregnancy, including failure
to carry pregnancy to term and perinatal lethality. To examine ovarian function, ovulation was induced with
equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG); the number of ovulated oocytes did
not differ between Tinagl1–/– and Tinagl1flox/flox.
In vitro fertilization followed by embryo culture also demonstrated the normal
developmental potential of Tinagl1-null embryos during the preimplantation period. Our
results demonstrate that Tinagl1 deficiency affects female mice and results in subfertility phenotypes, and
they suggest that although the potential of Tinagl1–/– oocytes is normal, Tinagl1
is related to fertility in adult females but is not essential for either fertilization or preimplantation
development in vitro. 相似文献

In 1989, 220 Holstein Friesian cattle (212 heifers and eight bulls) were imported from Minnesota, USA, to form a closed dairy herd in Arab El‐Aoumar, Assiut, Upper Egypt. In November 1996, some abnormal signs such as loss of weight, decreased milk yield, external lymphadenopathy and decreased appetite were observed on this farm. Serological screening by enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay revealed a seroprevalence of antibodies directed against bovine leukaemia virus (BLV) of 37.7% in cattle under 2 years old and of 72.8% in animals more than 2 years old. Diagnosis was confirmed by the detection of BLV proviral DNA using polymerase chain reaction with primers amplifying a fragment of the env gene. Out of 21 tested leucocyte fractions from individual animals, 15 were positive showing a BLV‐specific amplicon of 444 base pairs. Analysis of the amplicons for restriction fragment length polymorphisms and DNA sequencing results allowed the isolates to be typed. Since this was the first recorded case of enzootic bovine leukosis in Upper Egypt, strict quarantine measures were adopted and all serologically positive animals in the herd were culled. 相似文献

The study was conducted to evaluate effect of ratio of face to core particles on mechanical and physical properties of oriented strand board produced from Ethiopian highland bamboo.Three-layered oriented particleboards were manufactured with 4 proportions of face to core particles at 750 kg/m~3 target density.Ten percent urea formaldehyde resin was used as a binder.Strength and dimensional stability performances of all boards were assessed based on ISO standards. The results showed that modulus of rupture... 相似文献

Objective— To determine outcome and survival rate after surgical treatment of intestinal atresia, gender predilection, and effect of rectal palpation on the cause of atresia coli in calves.
Study Design— Prospective clinical study.
Animals— Newborn calves (n=68).
Methods— Data collected were husbandry system, anamneses, physical examination findings, surgical treatments, and postoperative results. Calves with atresia ani, and with atresia coli et recti had anal reconstruction and right flank colostomy, respectively. In midflank colostomized calves, the inner muscular layers were dissected to form a valve-like stoma.
Results— Of 68 calves with intestinal atresia, 37 were treated surgically. Anal reconstruction was performed in 21 calves with atresia ani with a long-term survival rate of at least 6 months with good condition. Colostomy was performed in 14 calves with atresia coli and 1 with atresia coli et recti; survival rate was 73%. The case morbidity rate for intestinal atresia was 13.8% and for atresia coli, 5.7% in the hospital population. No gender predilection for occurrence of atresia ani and atresia coli was identified. Palpation per rectum for early pregnancy diagnosis did not predispose to atresia coli.
Conclusion— Surgical treatment of atresia ani through circular anal skin removal has a good prognosis for survival. Colostomy is not an acceptable treatment from the calf's perspective because of the resulting poor condition but the high survival rate is important to allow continued milk production of the dam.
Clinical Relevance— Early diagnosis, supportive treatment, and surgical correction are important in management of atresia coli. 相似文献
