Change in temperature sensitivity of soil organic carbon (SOC) decomposition with change in soil qualities (i.e. decomposability or lability) is one of the most important issues to be evaluated for projection of future CO2 emissions from soils. We inversely estimated the temperature sensitivity of SOC decomposition rate by applying a hybrid of the Metropolis-Hasting algorithm and the particle filter method to the extended Rothamsted carbon model (RothC), together with long-term (9 years) experimental data on SOC obtained at five sites in Japanese upland soils. Contrary to the prediction of the Arrhenius kinetics theory, we found no significant differences in temperature sensitivity among soils with different qualities (represented as soil compartments in the RothC model). We also confirmed that there was a positive correlation between the relative temperature sensitivity of the humus compartment and future total CO2 emissions. The RothC model with default parameterization tended to overestimate future total CO2 emissions relative to the calibrated model, and the degree of overestimation was larger than that of underestimation.  相似文献

We examined whether strains of Bradyrhizobium japonicum selected for growth on acid media in vitro would also survive and grow better in acid soils. Four agar screening media for acid-tolerant rhizobia, which differed in the number of acid soil stresses imposed (pH, low calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P), high aluminum (Al) and manganese (Mn)), were assessed for their effects on the survival of 14 Indonesian strains and two commercial strains of B. japonicum. Survival of B. japonicum in the agar media was compared with that in two acid soils. A repeat stab inoculation method which provided a declining range of inoculum cell number to 103 cells per stab was used to assess the daily growth of the strains on the screening media at 5 pH levels (3.8, 4.2, 4.5, 5.0, and 6.8). The growth and survival of the 16 strains were then measured at days 1, 8, 18, and 28 after inoculation in two acid soils (pH 4.24 and 4.35) sterilized using γ-irradiation at 5.0 Mrad. Selectivity of the agar media improved as more acid stress factors were incorporated in the media. Those strains of Bradyrhizobium identified as acid, Al and Mn-tolerant in acidic agar media, also had better survival in the low pH soils. There was no relationship between acid or alkali production on agar media and acid tolerance on agar or in soil. There was no apparent relationship between symbiotic performance and acid tolerance, and one acid-tolerant strain was as effective as the commercial inoculant strain CB1809. The most acid-tolerant strain was also the most ineffective.  相似文献

Four new carbazole alkaloids (14) and fourteen known carbazole alkaloids (518) were isolated from Murraya koenigii. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis. Compounds 4, 6, 16, and 17 (10 μM) had moderate hepatoprotective activities against d-galactosamine-induced HL-7702 cell damage. Compounds 11, 12 and 18 showed significant PTP1B inhibitory activity with IC50 values of 1.773, 1.875 and 2.286 μM, respectively.  相似文献

Anaerobic digestion of organic materials generates residues of differing chemical composition compared to undigested animal manures, which may affect the soil microbial ecosystem differently when used as fertilizers. This study investigated the effects of two biogas residues (BR-A and BR-B) and cattle slurry (CS) applied at rates corresponding to 70 kg NH4+-N ha−1 on bacterial community structure and microbial activity in three soils of different texture (a sandy, a clay and an organic clay soil). 16S rRNA genes were targeted in PCR reactions and bacterial community profiles visualized using terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism. General microbial activity was measured as basal respiration (B-resp), substrate-induced respiration (SIR), specific growth rate (μSIR), metabolic quotient (qCO2) and nitrogen mineralization capacity (NMC). Non-metric multidimensional scaling analysis visualized shifts in bacterial community structure related to microbial functions. There were significant differences in bacterial community structure after 120 days of incubation (+20 °C at 70% of WHC) between non-amended (control) and amended soils, especially in the sandy soil, where CS caused a more pronounced shift than biogas residues. Terminal-restriction fragment (TRF) 307, the predominant peak in CS-amended sandy soil, was identified as possibly Bacillus or Streptococcus. TRF 226, the dominant peak in organic soil amended with BR-B, was classified as Rhodopseudomonas. B-resp significantly increased and SIR decreased in all amendments to organic soil compared with the control, potentially indicating decreased efficiency of heterotrophic microorganisms to convert organic carbon into microbial biomass. This was also reflected in an elevated qCO2 in the organic soil. The μSIR level was higher in the sandy soil amended with BR-A than with BR-B or CS, indicating a shift toward species capable of rapidly utilizing glucose. NMC was significantly elevated in the clay and organic soils amended with BR-A and BR-B and in the sandy soil amended with BR-B and CS. Thus, biogas residues and cattle slurry had different effects on the bacterial community structure and microbial activity in the three soils. However, the effects of biogas residues on microbial activities were comparable in magnitude to those of cattle slurry and the bacterial community structure was less affected. Therefore, we do not see any reason not to recommend using biogas residues as fertilizers based on the results presented.  相似文献

Blueberry softening is known to be influenced by cell wall modifications accompanying ripening but these changes appear to be largely complete by the time of harvest. In this study postharvest storage conditions were controlled so only the extent of water loss varied between treatments. A linear relationship between weight loss and loss of firmness (as assessed by a non-destructive compression test) was demonstrated. This relationship did not hold at very low weight loss, where instead, firming of blueberries during storage was found. Magnetic resonance imaging of berries confirmed significant shrinkage and loss of water in berries which had high weight loss, compared with more subtle effects on sub-epidermal water content in berries with very low weight loss. Treatments which restrict blueberry water loss to below 8% are likely to be beneficial in retaining acceptable berry firmness for up to three weeks’ storage.  相似文献

A combination of near infrared spectroscopy (NIR) instrumental measurements and sensory analysis was investigated to predict solids soluble content (SSC, assessed as Brix) and to classify preference in table grape cv Italia. SSC was monitored in each berry of whole bunches in order to evaluate intra-bunch distribution and variability. NIR spectra were recorded in the spectral region 12,000–4000 cm−1 (833–2500 nm) using a set of 682 berries. The Partial Least Square (PLS) model based on cross-validation provided acceptable value for the main statistical parameters (coefficient of determination of cross-validation, r2: 0.85; standard error of cross-validation, SECV: 1.08; residual predictive deviation, RPD: 2.6) and was confirmed by external validation performed with 115 independent berries (coefficient of determination of prediction, rp2: 0.82; standard error of prediction, SEP: 0.83). For consumer testing, the selected PLS model was used to predict the Brix value in 400 berries and Discriminant Analysis (DA) was then carried out to classify berries in terms of preference by relating NIR data to consumer judgment. The three defined preference clusters of berries were fully classified obtaining 100% membership. In cross-validation the value decreased especially for class 1 (78.5%) and 3 (75%) whereas class 2 obtained comparable values (98.7%). According to our results, NIR technology appears to be a promising technique for predicting SSC and obtaining information with regard to consumer preference in ‘Italia’ table grape for application of efficient and low cost on-line instruments in the fruit industry.  相似文献

畜禽养殖过滤除臭装置对传统轴流风机负压抽吸能力提出了更高的要求。为提高传统轴流风机的气动性能,扩大其有效工作区间,该研究以550型农用轴流风机为对象,结合试验和数值模拟研究了前置导叶对轴流风机性能的影响。通过单因素和响应面分析方法,对前置导叶的导叶安装角(α)、轴向间距(L)、导叶个数(n)对风机性能和流场的影响进行研究,分析各因素对风机性能的影响,求解出最佳参数组合。通过3D打印制作前置导叶并进行样机试验。结果表明,增设前置导叶后,风机内部区域涡流得到削弱,降低了流动损失,静压效率提高,流动剧烈程度降低,流场更稳定,叶片静压差增大,风机叶片的做功能力增强,与传统结构相比,增设前置导叶后风机通风量和能效比均明显提升,通风量提升幅度在5.7%~10.39%,能效比提升幅度在6.62%~10.89%;在静压50 Pa下,通风量提升6.76%,能效比提升7.75%。研究结果证明了增设前置导叶提升轴流风机负压抽吸能力的可行性。  相似文献

We investigated the abundance and genetic heterogeneity of bacterial nitrite reductase genes (nir) and soil structural properties in created and natural freshwater wetlands in the Virginia piedmont. Soil attributes included soil organic matter (SOM), total organic carbon (TOC), total nitrogen (TN), pH, gravimetric soil moisture (GSM), and bulk density (Db). A subset of soil attributes were analyzed across the sites, using euclidean cluster analysis, resulting in three soil condition (SC) groups of increasing wetland soil development (i.e., SC1 < SC2 < SC3; less to more developed or matured) as measured by accumulation of TOC, TN, the increase of GSM, and the decrease of Db. There were no difference found in the bacterial community diversity between the groups (p = 0.4). NirK gene copies detected ranged between 3.6 × 104 and 3.4 × 107 copies g−1 soil and were significantly higher in the most developed soil group, SC3, than in the least developed soil group, SC1. However, the gene copies were lowest in SC2 that had a significantly higher soil pH (~6.6) than the other two SC groups (~5.3). The same pattern was found in denitrifying enzyme activity (DEA) on a companion study where DEA was found negatively correlated with soil pH. Gene fragments were amplified and products were screened by terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP) analysis. Among 146 different T-RFs identified, fourteen were dominant and together made up more than 65% of all detected fragments. While SC groups did not relate to whole nirK communities, most soil properties that identified SC groups did significantly correlate to dominant members of the community.  相似文献

The effects of neutral electrolysed water (NEW), ultraviolet light C (UV-C) and superatmospheric O2 packaging (HO), single or combined, on the quality of fresh-cut kailan-hybrid broccoli for 19 days at 5 °C were studied. As controls, washing with water and sanitation with NaClO were both used. Electrolyte leakage, sensory, microbial and nutritional quality changes throughout shelf-life were studied. At day 15, the combined treatments achieved lower mesophilic and psychrophilic growth compared to the single ones. Single treatments produced higher ascorbate peroxidase (APX) reductions just after its application, while superoxide dismutase (SOD) showed the opposite behaviour. After 5 days at 5 °C, a great increase of APX and guaiacol peroxidase (GPX) activity was observed, NEW + UV-C + HO and HO-including treatments achieving the highest and the lowest APX increases, respectively. UV-C-including treatments produced the highest α-linolenic acid (ALA) decreases ranging 35–38% over control contents on the processing day. NEW-including treatments greatly reduced, throughout shelf-life, ALA and stearic acid (SA) content by 27–44% and 31–61%, respectively. Total phenolic content and antioxidant capacity (1415 mg ChAE kg−1 fw and 287 mg AAE kg−1 fw, respectively) remained quite constant during shelf-life. In general, the treatments and their possible combinations seem to be promising techniques to preserve, or even enhance, the quality of fresh-cut kailan-hybrid broccoli and, probably, other vegetables.  相似文献

Small volumes of timber are now being produced from Acacia mangium plantations in Indonesia. These trees require pruning and thinning to increase the strength and appearance of the wood. However, cut surfaces from pruning are potential infection courts for the entry of decay-causing fungi like heart rot. This study investigated the effects of pruning on stem form and the incidence of heart rot in an 18-month-old plantation of Acacia mangium in South Sumatra. The objectives were to assess whether pruning is associated with an increase in the incidence of heart rot and whether form pruning compared to lift pruning reduced the incidence of heart rot and improved stem form. Form pruning removed 25% of leaf area by removing large branches and those subtending a narrow angle with the stem up to 3 m height, and lift pruning removed 25% of crown length from below. Trees in these treatments were singled before pruning. The third treatment, a control, was not singled and was used to assess base levels of heart rot.No significant difference in diameter increment between the two pruning treatments was found. There was strong evidence that form pruning was associated with better form 18 months after treatment. Trees in this treatment had a reduced number of branches >30 mm diameter and improved stem straightness (reduced kink). Lift pruning reduced average branch size but did not improve stem straightness. No heart rot was detected in any treatment.The results showed that form pruning is likely to have positive benefits on stem straightness and is likely to be effective to any selected pruning height. However a subsequent lift pruning is still considered a requirement. While wounds created from pruning and singling are assumed to have a large impact on the incidence of heart rot, this may not be an issue unless there is a sufficient source of fungi present in the environment to invade the wounds.  相似文献
