Citrus performance is strongly related with rootstock. This study was conducted to investigate leaf nutrient contents of ‘Okitsu’, ‘Clausellina’ and ‘Silverhill’ mandarin cultivars budded onto sour orange, ‘Carrizo’ and ‘Troyer’ citrange rootstocks in Dörtyol, Turkey in 2004 and 2005. The maximum nitrogen (N), potassium (K), and copper (Cu) contents were determined for ‘Clausellina’; phosphorus (P) for ‘Okitsu’; and sodium (Na) for ‘Silverhill’. Calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), and zinc (Zn) uptake were similar for the mandarin cultivars. ‘Carrizo’ citrange at N, K, Mg, Mn, and Cu uptake; ‘Troyer’ citrange at N, P, K, and Fe uptake; and common sour orange at Ca, Zn, and Na uptake was superior on the other rootstocks. It was observed that ‘Carrizo’ and ‘Troyer’ citrange rootstocks had advantages over sour orange in nutrient uptake. Thus, growth performance, yield, and quality parameters considered, ‘Carrizo’ and/or ‘Troyer’ citranges could be suggested as rootstocks for the studied mandarin cultivars under similar ecological conditions. 相似文献

Quasi-cryogelation technique is a simple yet effective technique for improving the adsorptive efficiency of biopolymer-based adsorbent materials. In this work, a biopolymer-based adsorbent material, graphene oxide alginate quasi-cryogel beads are reported. Alginate biopolymer was crosslinked and frozen at ??21 °C in order to obtain a gel with cryogel-like microstructure. Graphene oxide was included in the bead formulation in order to enhance the adsorptive characteristics. Beads were characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and swelling experiments. Removal of the model cationic dye, methylene blue, was studied by batch adsorption method. It is found that the adsorption follows the Freundlich isotherm model and pseudo-first order kinetics with reaching an adsorption capacity of 122.26 mg/g in 60 min. Results indicate that the physisorption might be due to the π–π interactions between graphene oxide and methylene blue, in addition to electrostatic interactions. Moreover, quasi-cryogelation technique significantly improved the dye removal properties. 相似文献

A 15-day-old Brown Swiss calf, whose dam had suffered from foot-and-mouth disease, was presented with a history of depression and failure to suckle. The calf had an irregular cardiac rhythm and increased plasma cardiac troponin I (cTnI) detected with a commercial human immunoassay. The calf died the following day and myocarditis was detected. Pretreatment with oil of sea turtle Caretta caretta protected tomato plants against bacterial canker caused by Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis (Cmm). The turtle oil was ineffective in inhibiting Cmm in an agar diffusion test, suggesting a mechanism of induced resistance. Under controlled conditions in the greenhouse, turtle oil lowered the disease index and had reduced the growth of bacteria up to 50.4% by 7 days after inoculation. Applying turtle oil to the foliage of tomato plants increased per-oxidase and lipoxygenase activities. Gas chromatography analyses of turtle oil indicated the presence of polyunsaturated fatty acids such as eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid. These fatty acids may lead to the higher activity of the enzymes and probably induced plant resistance against the pathogen. 相似文献

Lentil is the sixth most important pulse crop terms of production in the world, but the number of available and mapped SSR markers are limited. To develop SSR markers in lentil, four genomic libraries for (CA)n, (GA)n, (AAC)n and (ATG)n repeats were constructed. A total of 360 SSR primers were designed and validated using 15 Turkish lentil cultivars and genotypes. The most polymorphic repeat motifs were GA and CT, with a mean number of alleles per locus of 7.80 and 6.55, respectively. Seventy‐eight SSR primers amplified a total of 400 polymorphic alleles, whereas 71 SSR primers produced markers within the expected size range. For 78 polymorphic SSR primers, the average number of alleles per locus was 5.1 and PIC value ranged from 0.07 to 0.89, with an average of 0.58. A linkage map was constructed using 92 individual F2 plants derived from a cross between Karacada? × Silvan, with 47 SSR markers.
