Milrinone, a therapeutic agent for acute congestive heart failure, has both inotropic and vasodilatory effects, but investigations of these effects of milrinone were almost all conducted under normoxia, and few reports have investigated how milrinone affects the hemodynamics and redistribution of regional blood flow under severe hypoxia. By using colored microspheres, we investigated how milrinone affects hemodynamics and the redistribution of regional blood flow under severe hypoxia. Twelve healthy mongrel dogs were divided into 2 groups. The milrinone group was infused with milrinone cumulatively at 25, 75 and 250 microg/kg for 5 min each. The intact group was infused with saline instead of milrinone. We measured the hemodynamics and cerebrum, cerebellum and kidney blood flow in both groups. Both groups were inspired with 10% oxygen. Milrinone induced significant decrease in mean pulmonary artery and pulmonary vascular resistance, compared with the intact group. In both groups slight decreases in mean arterial pressure, systemic vascular resistance and double-product were seen. In regional blood flow, milrinone-induced increases in blood flow were seen in the cerebrum, cerebellum, and especially in the kidneys. Milrinone's vasodilatory effects were sufficient even under hypoxia. And milrinone increased regional blood flow slightly in the cerebrum and cerebellum, and significantly in the kidneys. These results suggested that milrinone protects against hypoxia-induced organ damage especially in the kidneys. Effects of 1-arylimidazole-2(3H)-thiones (AITs) and 1-(substituted benzyl)imidazole-2(3H)-thiones (BITs) were tested on progeny formation in Drosophila melanogaster. Some AITs showed inhibitory activities at laying eggs and delayed eclosion by 1 day. The inhibitory activity was nullified by adding octopamine (OA) or noradrenaline (NA) to the medium for progeny formation in D. melanogaster. The effect of AIT on the contents of OA and NA was analyzed in adults of D. melanogaster by high-performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection. Flies fed with AIT decreased OA and NA levels and increased TA content. Taken together, the inhibitory activity of AIT could be due to inhibition of tyramine β-hydroxylase and dopamine β-hydroxylase. 相似文献

Behavioural tracking of endangered adult Sakhalin taimen (Parahucho perryi) by acoustic telemetry was conducted in the Bekanbeushi River system that flows through eastern Hokkaido in 2008–2010. A total of 39 tracked P. perryi showed extensive use of the river system, both upstream and downstream, regardless of the month or year. No tracked adult P. perryi stayed in the ocean for more than 1 day. Some of the fish (20%) dwelled in upstream habitat consistently from spring to autumn, while 40% of individuals showed wide utilisation of the entire upstream and downstream systems. Although 39.4% of tracked fish utilised two or more primary tributaries to the main river, 6.1% used only the main river system. Distinct variability was observed between individuals based on the proportion of time spent in each stream reach (up‐, mid‐, and downstream). A trend was observed in 2008 and 2010 showing that tracked fish moved to the upper stream reaches when water temperatures downstream increased. This trend was not observed in 2009 when the summer water temperature downstream was more than 2 °C below average when compared to 2008 and 2010. Our results suggest that adult P. perryi in the Bekanbeushi River system exhibit high behavioural plasticity, that is, the fish can select habitats based on their own individual requirements. Our results also demonstrate the importance of physical continuity among river reaches both upstream and downstream such that P. perryi does not experience barriers in moving to optimal habitats. 相似文献

This study examined how boiling and drying treatments influenced various physical properties of the tension wood with gelatinous
fibers (G-fibers) of a 29-yearold Zelkova branch. By boiling treatment, tension wood with numerous G-fibers contracted considerably in the longitudinal direction and
the longitudinal Young’s modulus decreased in spite of the water-saturated condition. The drying treatment caused green tension
wood and boiled tension wood with numerous G-fibers to shrink longitudinally and increased their longitudinal Young’s moduli.
These specific behaviors in tension wood were highly correlated with the proportion of G-fibers in a specimen and were probably
caused by the microscopic behavior of cellulose microfibril (CMF) in the gelatinous layers (G-layers). The longitudinal shrinkage
of tension wood due to drying suggests the existence of a hygro-sensible, noncrystalline region in the CMF, which is abundant
in the G-layer. Furthermore, the noncrystalline region in the CMF softens during boiling treatment, resulting in the reduction
of the longitudinal Young’s modulus in tension wood. The longitudinal contraction of tension wood with G-fibers by boiling
might be caused by the tensile growth stress remaining in green G-layers. However, no changes were detected in the 004 d-spacing of cellulose crystal in tension wood from the boiling and drying treatments, regardless of the proportion of G-fibers. 相似文献

Carbohydraseproduction of Hypsizygus marmoreus cultured on sawdust rice bran medium by bottle cultivation was investigated to elucidate the carbohydrase utilized as the growth substrate for the fruit-body formation of this fungus. Among the extracellular enzymes assayed, xylanase showed the highest activity. This activity greatly increased during the end of vegetative mycelial growth and fruit-body formation. Among the cellulases. CM-cellulase showed higher activity than avicelase. The activities of -1,3-glucanase, amylase, and chitinase were low. Among the intracellular enzymes, both xylanase and amylase showed higher activity levels than the other carbohydrases. In contrast, -1,3-glucanase, avicelase, and chitinase activities in mycelia were considerably lower. These results suggest that xylanase, CM-cellulase, and amylase play an important role in mycelial maturation and fruit-body growth of H. marmoreus. 相似文献

Although color Doppler ultrasonography has been used to evaluate testicular blood flow in
many species, very little has been done in goat. Eight male Shiba goats were exposed to a
single intramuscular injection of either gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH group; 1
µg/kg BW) or human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG group; 25 IU/kg BW).
Plasma testosterone (T), estradiol (E2) and inhibin (INH) were measured just before (0 hr)
and at different intervals post injection by radioimmunoassay. Testis volume (TV) and
Doppler indices, such as resistive index (RI) and pulsatility index (PI) of the
supratesticular artery, were measured by B-mode and color Doppler ultrasonography,
respectively. The results indicated an increase in testicular blood flow in both groups,
as RI and PI decreased significantly (P<0.05), but this increase was
significant higher and earlier in hCG group (1 hr) than in the GnRH group (2 hr). A high
correlation was found for RI and PI with both T (RI, r= −0.862; PI, r= −0.707) and INH in
the GnRH group (RI, r=0.661; PI, r=0.701). However, a significant
(P<0.05) correlation was found between E2 and both RI (r= −0.610) and
PI (r= −0.763) in hCG group. In addition, TV significantly increased and was highly
correlated with RI in both groups (GnRH, r= −0.718; hCG, r= −0.779). In conclusion, hCG
and GnRH may improve testicular blood flow and TV in Shiba goats. 相似文献

Acetamiprid (ACE) and imidacroprid (IMI) are known neonicotinoid insecticides with strong
affinities for the insect-selective nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. These provide insect
control by hyperstimulating insect nerves and are used for agricultural pest management.
However, it has also been reported that ACE and IMI affect mammalian reproductive
function. We determined the effects of ACE and IMI on the in vitro
maturation of porcine oocytes. Significant decreases in nuclear maturation rates were
observed in the ACE or IMI-exposed groups. Also, in matured oocytes from the ACE or
IMI-exposed groups, irregular chromosomes were observed. Our results suggest that ACE and
IMI exposure was detrimental to porcine oocytes and the extent of the effects depends on

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a widely used industrial chemical that disrupts endocrine function.
BPA is an endocrine disrupting chemical (EDC) that has been demonstrated to affect
reproductive organ development, brain development, metabolic disease and post-natal
behavior. Accordingly, Bisphenol analogs, Bisphenol F (BPF, bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) methane)
and Bisphenol AF (BPAF, 4,4-hexafluoroisopropylidene) diphenol) are used as replacements
for BPA. BPA is mainly metabolized by UDP-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT), UGT2B1, but this
effective metabolizing system is weak in the fetus. In the present study, we demonstrated
that hepatic UGT activity toward BPAF was very weak, in comparison with BPA and BPF, in
the fetus, pups and dams. Conversely, hepatic UGT activity toward BPF was very weak in the
fetus and newborn pups, and was increased to the same level as BPA post-partum. In
conclusion, BPAF possibly tends to accumulate in the fetus, because of weak metabolism
during the perinatal period, suggesting that the metabolism of individual Bisphenol
analogs requires assessment to properly gauge their risks. 相似文献
