With the fast development of aquaculture, fish meal needs increased in recent years, however the quantity of fish catching decreases gradually. Fishmeal is a limited feed resource, and serious concem exists on the future availability of this feedstuff for incorporation in fish diets. Undoubtedly, fish meal is well recognized as the best dietary protein source for most marine carnivorous fishes which required high dietary protein levels compared to omnivorous or herbivorous fish. Fishmeal is known for their high content of essential amino acids and fatty acids, low carbohydrates, high digestibility, low levels of anti-nutritional factors (for fresh fish meal) and is a very good source of minerals and is highly palatable. Thus fish meal is in high demand as the protein source for many formulated diets. However, production of fish meal consumes approximately 35 % of the total global fish catch, and the increasing price and potentially unstable supply in the market could be limiting factors for marine fish culture. There have been strong efforts to define and develop cost-effective protein sources that can, at least partly, substitute for expensive high-quality fish meals in least-cost feed formulations. The search for fish meal substitutes and altemative dietary protein sources is an international research priority that could be of considerable economic advantages. Therefore it is urgent task to find animal and plant protein sources in place of fish meal. Among these, plant feedstuffs have received most attention in recent years, but due to their amino acid unbalances, .presence of anti-nutritional factors and low palatability, a high level of replacement of fish meal with plant feedstuffs in omnivorous fish is generally not well accepted. This paper reviews the research status for other protein sources replacing fish meal based on available information in the literature. Animal and plant protein sources nutrient values are evaluated from the aspect of digestibility, antinutrients, physiological status and suitable supplementation.  相似文献

As a main protein source in aquafeeds, fish meal has been extensively studied. Fish sources, freshness, processing temperature, lipid quality and microbiological index are five main aspects of the evaluation of fish meal quality. This paper reviewed the researches on fish meal including the evaluation of fish meal quality, the use of fishmeal and the environmental problems. Biogenic amine is the main potential toxin in decomposed fish meal including mainly histamine, cadaverine, putrescine and tyramine and most studies showed that they could affect the fish growth performance and health. The determination of protein digestibility of fish meal includes pepsin-digestion method, animal test, capillary electrophoresis, etc. The content of phosphorus in fish meal and its utilization can introduce pollution to water bodies and the use of alternative protein and improvement of utilization of fish meal can help to reduce the pollution from fish meal.  相似文献

Based on the Rice Fish Concurrent living theory and pond aquaculture high yield technology, combining Rice Fish Concurrent Farming technique in the model of pit pond aquaculture and the Rice Fish in turn Farming technique in the model of field pond aquaculture, the high quality and yield ecological technique model of early rice fish concurrent farming and late complete aquaculture in paddy field was established, which contain one submodel of fingerlings farming to juvenile and another submodel of juvenile fish farming to adult fish. The model demonstration base covering 20 hm2 paddy field was established in Songyang village, Gechuan town, Liancheng county of Fujian province. Production results showed: Early rice harvest average yield increased 22% very significantly (P 〈 0. 01 ) in both submodels, and 453 kg juvenile fish was produced per 667 m2 paddy field implementing the submodel of fingerlings farming to juvenile fish, whose production value and profit were 5 182¥ and 1 662 ¥ RMB, respectively, and were very significantly increased 2.5 times and 3.7 times (P 〈 0.01 ) respectively than planting only two harvests paddy without aquacuhure; 710 kg adult fish was produced per 667 m2 paddy field implementing the suhmodel of juvenile fish farming to adult fish, whose production value and profit were 6 428¥ and 2 005 ¥ RMB, respectively, and were very significantly increased 3.2 times and 4.7 times (P 〈 0. 01 ) respectively than planting only two harvests paddy without aquaculture; There were good economic, social and ecological benefit.  相似文献

The genomic resources from human and several model organisms have been increased very fast since 1990. The techniques for developing genomic resources have already been very advanced and smart. These could make scientists see and improve organism in genomic level. For Chinese aquaculture scientists and aquatic industry, developing genomic resources and genetic tools for the native species are most important in the genomic era. The genomic resources and genetic tools for several aquatic species have been developed and some of them have been used in the marker based selection and other researches. The genome research work on aquaculture species was reviewed in this paper, especially a USDA genome project was focused. Some functional genomic research for aquatic animal was also discussed here. The importance and necessity of China aquaculture species genome project were discussed. Common carp and other cultured fishes in Cyprinidae such as grass carp, silver carp, bighead carp etc were recommended as the candidate species for genome research, because the output of all carps is almost up to 1/3 of total fisheries output in China. Common carp with another virtue for genome research is that there are much more families and strains in common carp than those in other cultured species in China, and those families and strains are the basis for genome research and mapping quantitative trait loci associated with important economic trait. Although the first linkage map of common carp made by Sun needs to be added with more markers for mapping QTL and Type I markers ,it has laid the groundwork for QTL mapping and markerassisted selection in common carp. Because the model organism zebrafish and common carp, grass carp and other carps cultured in China all belong to Cyprinidae, the China carp genome research will obtain a lot of useful information from zebrafish genome research. How the China carp genome program will be conducted and what kinds of strategy involved in this program were all suggested. How the results of the genome research of aquaculture species will be used in the aquaculture industry was reviewed and analyzed here.  相似文献

In order to investigate the difference in utilization of diets with different quality in Jian carp(Cyprinus carpio var. Jian)and allogynogenetic silver curcian carp(Carassius auratus gibelio), a 55 d growth trial was conducted and low quality diet (LQ-diet) and high quality diet (HQ diet) were tested. LQ-diet contained 33.91% dietary protein which is mainly from soybean meal while HQ-diet contained 45.59% dietary protein which is mainly from fish meal. The initial average body weights were from 5.58 g to 5.82 g for two fish strains. The trial was carried out in a system consisting of 12 self circulation 320 L tanks. During the experiment, the fish were fed to satiation twice a day (at 9: 00 and 15:00), and uneaten feed was collected 1 h after feeding and dried. Feces were collected twice a day (at 11:00 and 16:45) from the fecal traps and dried at 70 ℃. The results show that feed intake was higher in Jian carp than in allogynogenetic silver curcian carp when fed LQ diet, while there was no significant difference between weight gain, feed conversion efficiency, protein efficiency rate and apparent digestibility. When fed HQ diet, Jian carp showed a lower feed intake, but higher feed conversion efficiency and protein efficiency rate than allogynogenetic silver curcian carp while there was no significant difference in the weight gain and apparent digestibility of both species. For Jian carp, feed intake and protein efficiency rate for the fish fed HQ diet and LQ diet were not significantly different, while the fish fed HQ diet showed higher weight gain, feed conve rsion efficiency and apparent digestibility. For allogynogenetic silver curcian carp, the fish fed HQ diet showed significantly higher feed intake, apparent digestibility, weight gain, feed conversion efficiency and lower protein efficiency rate. For Jian carp, body contents of dry matter, protein, lipid and energy for the fish fed HQ diet and LQ diet were significantly higher. For allogynogenetic silver curcian carp, body contents of dry matter and protein was significantly higher, while body contents of lipid and energy were affected by diet qualities. Compared to Jian carp, allogynogenetic silver curcian carp showed better utilization when fed LQ diet while poorer utilization when fed HQ diet.  相似文献

In recent years, piscine nodaviruses have emerged as major pathogens of a wide range of larval and juvenile marine finfish resulting in high mortality in aquaculture worldwide. Affected fish exhibit a range of neurological signs, such as erratic swimming behaviour with the associated microscopic lesions of necrosis and vacuolation of the central nervous tissues and retina. Numerous roundshaped, unenveloped and 25-30 nm in diameter virus particles were found in the cytoplasm of affected retinal and nerve cells. Nodaviruses have a bipartite genome of positivesense RNA,with RNA1 encoding the RNAdependent RNA polymerase and RNA2 encoding the capsid protein. Both RNA are capped, but not polyadenylated. The family Nodaviridae comprises two genera: Alphanodavirus and Betanodavirus, members of which primarily infect insects and fish, respectively. Therefore, betanodavirus is also named piscine nodavirus. At present, piscine nodaviruses are divided into four genotypes based on partial sequences of the coat protein gene. ELISA and RT-PCR amplification have been developed as specific diagnostic methods for the d etection of the virus. Antibodies to striped jack (Pseudocaranx dentex) nervous necrosis (SJNNV) were found in 65% of plasma samples collected from wild and domestic brood stocks of striped jack, suggesting that the virus is very prevalent. Viral antigens were detected in eggs, larvae, and ovaries of hatcheryreared and wild spawner fish, suggesting both horizontal and vertical modes of transmission of the virus. Selection of nodavirusfree spawners using ELISA for detection of antigens and RT-PCR techniques have successfully reduced incidences of the virus infections in juvenile sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax),striped jack and barfin flounder (Verasper moseri). The SSN1 and GF cell lines have been successfully used in isolating piscinenodaviruses.Although there are many papers describing the molecular characteristics of betanodavirus, our knowledge of the genomic attributes of these viruses is still limited. Vaccination studies are being undertaken by a number of researchers and need to be fostered. In particular, the use of passive immunization of broodfish with homologous and heterologous, high titre antisera are worthy of investigation.  相似文献

The fish spawning ground had been investigated on the Beijiang River near Shaoguan city and the influence on fishes breeding from 7 dam had been estimated.Main result are as follows:the four dam building and designed will result in a big destruction.including disrupt the fish migration(Mengli Dam and ChangshanDam),the fish spawning ground disappear(below Zhangtan Dam).a huge destruction in Ankou fish spawning ground by Changan Dam and a serious of damage on grass lying -egg species will caused by Wantou Dam,especially for catifish Mystus suttatus.On the other hand Zhangtan Dam,Kongiiang Dam,and Menzhou Dam obstructed the fish exchange between upstream and lower stream,however a large water surface became before the dam supported a better condition for fish growth,it seems balance in positive and negative action.The conclusion is that those dam building or designed would be stop or delay in order to maintain fish population and aquatic ecological balance.  相似文献

Cytokines are low molecular weight proteins that serve as chemical messengers within the innate and adaptive immune systems. To date, great progresses have been made in fish cytokine researches. A number of cytokine genes have been cloned and sequenced in fish. This review will focus on a number of novel immune-related cytokines including interleukin, interferon, interferon regulatory factors, Myxovirus resistance proteins, transforming growth factor, tumor necrosis factor, chemokines (CC and CXC chemokines), NK dell enhancement factor, MHCⅠ, MHCⅡ and some of their receptors, which have been identified in many fish species recently. Their genes and molecular structures are clarified. These cytokines are evolutionary well conserved. They share high identities at both the nucleotide and amino acid levels with the high vertebrate cytokines, and maintain characteristic structural motifs of those higher vertebrates. The function of some cytokine genes are analyzed in conventional manner by production of recombinant molecules. Several fish cytokines have been identified based on functional similarity to, or cross-reactivity with, mammalian cytokines. Moreover, molecular techniques, such as suppression subtractive hybridization, PCR and cDNA library screening, have recently enabled the identification of fish cytokine genes. Because of fish phylogenetic position and the fact that their immune systems have not been elaborated to the extent seen in mammals, progresses in this field will deepen our understanding of the molecular origins of cytokine genes and extend our knowledge on their mechanisms conferring disease resistance and the recombinant cytokines to control fish diseases.  相似文献

Artificial - based fish multiplication and liberation is one of the most efficient ways for sustaining fish population, and is carrying out in the much more hydropower stations in China. In this paper, we took the Gongguoqiao & Miaowei hydropower station as an example, and aimed to briefly introduce the design process of fish hatchery. The effect of heat treatment during fish meal processing on amino acid racemization was studied. The hydrolysis-induced racemization rate (R) and the d -isomer content in the sample before hydrolysis (I) were differentiated by means of deuterium labelling and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis in selected ion monitoring mode. A preliminary experiment on laboratory-made herring meals cooked at 125°C for different time intervals showed aspartic acid (Asp) as the only amino acid with significant racemization before hydrolysis. Aspartic acid racemization rate appeared to be a nearly linear function of the duration of thermal treatment (R2= 0.93; P < 0.01). Analyses were carried out on several samples of commercial fish meals from different origin. Low-temperature-dried fish meals had a d -Asp content, expressed as I= 100 [d -isomer concentration before hydrolysis / (d - +l -isomer concentration before hydrolysis)], at less than 1%, while the d -isomer content of high-temperature dried fish meals exceeded 2%. Differences between the two commercial categories were statistically significant (P < 0.001). Further studies are required in order to evaluate the effects of d -Asp in protein of fish feeds and the role of the raw material and processing parameters in inducing amino acid racemization in protein of fish meals.  相似文献

The study was conducted in Cam Ranh, Vietnam, in 1000‐L tanks supplied with recirculated and biofiltered saltwater (33‰ and 28.4 °C) to evaluate the potential use of lizard fish (Saurida undosquamis) or blue crab (Portunus pelagicus) acid silage protein for juvenile cobia (23–25 g). Six isoenergetic test moist diets (4915–5125 kcal kg?1), using either raw fish diet, fish silage diet (FSD), raw crab diet, crab silage diet (CSD), mixed raw fish/raw crab diet or mixed fish/crab silage diet (MSD), as part of the protein sources in the steam‐cooked diets, were fed to satiety to triplicate groups of 20 fish each for a 6‐week growth trial. Y2O3 was added as an inert indicator to determine the apparent digestibility coefficients (ADC) for macro nutrients and gross energy. Weight gain (185–286%) and specific daily growth rate (2.5–3.2% per day) were significantly higher in cobia fed the raw‐based diets and FSD than in fish fed CSD and MSD (34–90 and 0.7–1.5% per day). Feed conversion ratios (FCR) were significantly higher in the groups fed CSD and MSD diets (2.1–6.5) than the groups fed the other diets (1.0–1.2), resulting in significantly lower protein productive values (0.1–0.2) in the groups fed CSD and MSD than in the other groups (0.3–0.4). The FCR results were confirmed by significantly lower ADC values in fish fed CSD and MSD than those in fish fed the other diets. We thus conclude that the present raw‐based diets were better utilized by juvenile cobia than silage‐based diets, particularly the diet made from crab silage.  相似文献

Abstract

Acid silage was prepared by mixing fresh minced sardines with a mixture of formic and propionic acid. The silage was stored outside at ambient temperatures (range 28-39°C) during liquefaction and samples were taken for measurement of viscosity, pH and non-protein nitrogen. After 48 h the mrxtures were liquefied and were then dried separately or co-dried with wheat bran. Samples of dried silage were analyzed for proximate composition and amino acid content. Trials were conducted on tilapia, Oreochromis aureususing test diets to compare the digestibility of sardine silage with that of fish meal. The study showed that sardine silage, dried in a solar cabinet, could be prepared in 4-5 days. Essential amino acids were present at levels exceeding the requirements for tilapia. Digestibility trials showed the apparent digestibility coefficients (ADC) of crude protein, dry matter and gross energy for sardine silage to be equivalent to those of fishmeal (P > 0.05).  相似文献

Press cake meals were prepared from previously frozen herring immediately following thawing and after storage for 8 or 12 days at 2-5°C. Each of the raw sources of herring was subjected to two processing temperatures, 75°C and 100°C, during meal preparation. Also, protein hydrolysates were prepared using ocean perch when fresh or after storage at 2-5°C for 4 or 8 days. Subsequently, each of the three hydrolysates was dried at 85°C or 93°C. In two separate experiments, each of the herring press cake meals and dried perch protein hydrolysates was blended with a reference diet in a 30:70 ratio (test protein source: reference diet). All diets contained 5 g kg?1 chromic oxide as an indigestible marker. The reference diet and all test diets were provided to satiation to chinook salmon in salt water and rainbow trout in fresh water, with digestibility of organic matter, protein and energy measured by difference. Digestibility of protein was also measured by the pH-stat and dilute pepsin solubility in vitro techniques. The results indicated that variation in processing temperature to a maximum of 100°C had little effect on digestibility of marine fish protein sources. By contrast, raw material storage for 8 days or more at 2-5°C prior to processing was found to reduce organic matter digestibility and sometimes nitrogen digestibility in salmonids. In vitro measures of digestibility were of little help in predicting the nutritive value of the test protein sources. Cadaverine level in herring press cake meal was shown to be a good indicator of spoilage in the raw material.  相似文献

Feed ingredients containing fish silage and liquefied fish made from ground, whole Pacific whiting and co-dried in a vacuum dryer with mixtures of soybean meal and feather meal to facilitate drying were prepared. An additional batch of fish silage was co-dried with the other dry ingredients in the diet formulation that was used, Abernathy diet S8-1. Fish meal, made by vacuum drying Pacific whiting, was used in the control diet. Co-dried fish meal was made by co-drying Pacific whiting with a soybean meal-feather meal mixture. Fish meal was entirely replaced by the co-dried products in the experimental diets, which were fed to rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri) for 32 weeks. The best growth and food conversion values were obtained by feeding the fish meal control diet or the diet in which the fish meal was replaced with co-dried liquefied fish. No significant differences in final weights were found between trout fed diets containing co-dried fish meal or co-dried fish silage (fish products were 25% of the diet), but these fish were significantly smaller than fish fed the fish meal control or the co-dried liquefied fish diets. Reducing the fish silage to 12.5% or increasing it to 50% further reduced weight gains in the trout. Food conversion values, protein efficiency ratios, and net protein utilization values generally followed the same trends between diets as did the final weight values. Apparent digestibility coefficients for the co-dried products were lower than for the fish meal, possibly because they contained soybean meal-feather meal mixtures. Organoleptic properties of the fish were not affected by diet.  相似文献

Three types of raw materials including commercial waste from saltwater (SW), freshwater fish (FW) and tilapia fillet residue (FR) were used to produce fish silage by either acid digestion (2% formic acid and 2% sulfuric acid) or anaerobic fermentation (5% of Lactobacillus plantarum and 15% sugar cane molasses). Six test diets were used in digestibility trials prepared with 70% reference diet and 30% of each experimental silage. These diets were fed to juvenile pacu Piaractus mesopotamicus (146 g average weight) in triplicate. Fish were kept in 500-L tanks and feces collected by manual extrusion. It was observed for both processes that SW waste always had the highest moisture content and lowest fat and ash. Highest crude protein levels were found in silages from commercial fish waste (SW and FW) made from whole fish unfit for human consumption. However, apparent digestibility coefficients did not vary among diets ( P > 0.05). Although values did not differ statistically, fermented silage consistently displayed higher digestibility coefficients compared to acid silage. The silages exhibited relatively high protein digestibility (72.5–80.0%), thus suggesting the feasibility of using fish industry by-products in aquaculture feeds.  相似文献

Mandarin fish is a typical carnivorous fish, it can accept artificial diet after domestication, which is significantly essential to optimize its artificial diet. Nevertheless, only few studies were conducted on artificial diet of mandarin fish. Therefore, an 8‐week feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the influence of feeding stimulants on growth performance, feed intake and appetite regulation of mandarin fish. In this trial, six diets were formulated, a basal diet contained 80% of Fish Meal without feeding stimulants, named as Control, 0.4% inosinic acid meal, 0.4% L‐Alanine meal, 3% Yeast meal, 3% a commercial squid extract meal and 0.4% betaine meal were added into the basal diet to make five experimental diets, which were named as IM, AM, YM, SVO and BM respectively. At the end of feeding trial, SVO group showed higher feed intake, up‐regulated mRNA expression of neuropeptide Y (NPY) and down‐regulated mRNA expression of pro‐opiomelanocorticoid (POMC) significantly as compared to control group, which suggested that squid extract improved feed acceptability and promoted appetite in mandarin fish. Similarly, compared to control group, SVO group showed low food conversion ratio, high weight gain and SGR, indicated that squid extract enhanced the growth performance. Our results suggested that the appropriate level of squid extract addition could contribute to optimize artificial diet in mandarin fish.  相似文献

Sprat silage with and without the antioxidant ethoxyquin was stored at 10 and 20°C for 8 weeks to produce four silages of different quality (10, 10+E, 20 and 20+E). The lipid in the silages without ethoxyquin contained high levels of hydroperoxides and secondary breakdown products. The silages were mixed 1 : 1 with a binder meal and fed to salmon (mean weight 425 g) held in seawater cages. A commercial dry pellet was used for comparison. The five diets were fed for 16 weeks during which time the water temperature increased from 5.4°C to 12.8°C. Growth, food consumption and food conversion ratios were calculated. There were no significant differences in the final weights of the fish fed any of the diets, although the commercial diet was consumed least and gave the slowest growth rate while the water temperature was below 10°C. The most rancid silage (20) proved to be very palatable and produced the most rapid growth during the early part of the trial although growth was reduced latterly. At the end of the trial histological examination of 21 different tissues from four fish in each group showed few differences. However, the fish fed the silages without ethoxyquin showed consistent changes in the morphological appearance and distribution of the eosinophilic granule cells. The nature and possible reasons for these changes are discussed.  相似文献

SUMMARY: This study was carried out to investigate the effects of dietary squid meal or a combination of squid meal and krill meal as part of the protein source in dry pellets on the spawning of striped jack Pseudocaranx dentex . Five months prior to spawning, 7-year-old fish were divided into three groups of 10 fish each (male : female ratio, 5 : 5). The control group was fed a raw fish mix (RF) and the other two groups were fed either steam-dry pellets with squid meal replacing 50% of their fish meal (fs-DP) or steam-dry pellets containing equal proportions of fish, squid and krill meals (fsk-DP). Feeding was carried out once every other day in 5 × 5 × 5 m floating net cages and the fish were transferred to 65 m3 indoor tanks for spawning. Eggs and yolksac larvae produced were evaluated for their quality and those obtained during the first 2 weeks of spawning were sampled for chemical analysis. The fish had an average bodyweight of 3.5 ± 0.4 kg at spawning. Although egg production of the RF group was significantly higher ( P < 0.05) than that of the dry pellet groups, the fs-DP group produced the best quality eggs with higher fertilization and hatching rates. The fsk-DP group had the lowest egg production and quality. Lipid classes and fatty acid compositions of eggs and yolksac larvae were dependent on the broodstock diets. These results show that the combination of fish meal and squid meal in dry pellets for striped jack improved egg quality but not production whereas the combination of fish meal, squid meal and krill meal was not effective.  相似文献
