Applications in Reconstructing Images of the Upper Limbs of Human Body Using Electrical Impedance Computed Tomography Techniques

Human body experiment is one of the key problems for the electrical impedance tomogryphy(EIT) in clinical meaning.In this paper an orbicular passive 32 electrode system which is suited for the upper limbs is developed,and the mathematical model for EIT to solve inverse problem is given.After testing many upper arms or forearms of persons, the author have reconstructed the images which are distinct to distinguish skeleton from muscle.     

Germplasm Evaluation of Annual Sown Forage Legumes under Environmental Conditions Marginal for Crop Growth in the Highlands of West Asia

In the very large areas of arid highlands in West Asia, of which land over 1000 m in Balochistan is typical, as a result of rapidly increasing numbers of small ruminants and subsequent overgrazing of natural rangelands, severe shortages in animal feed are being experienced. To address this problem the And Zone Research Institute (AZRI) have been evaluating annual forage legume germplasm for adaptability to the harsh climatic conditions of highland Balochistan. Due to the marginality of the environment for sustained crop production an unconventional germplasm evaluation strategy has been adopted which emphasizes the introduction of landraces, particularly of the genus Vicia. The substantial risk of crop failure from either cold or drought, in any year, makes continuity of seed supply of selected lines a major problem. Support from ICARDA in Syria for re-supply of seed is a major advantage to the AZRI program.
In the last three years some tangible progress has been made in selection. V. villosa ssp. dasycarpa Ace. 683 has with autumn sowing shown sufficient cold tolerance and is highly productive in wet years. V. ervilia Ace. 2542 has shown some potential for drought tolerance which could be exploited for spring sowing.     

Investigation on the Pressure Head of Water Supply System with Head Tank

The water supply system with pump-head tank joint water supply is a mature technology widely used in high-rise buildings. In recent years, with widespread of new type pipe material and decoration of buildings, there is insufficient pressure head of water supplied at top floors in high-rise buildings. In this paper from the experience in engineering practice the reason for this problem and its countermeasures are investigated, then some suggestions are given.     

Research to Algorithms of the Regulators in Digital Control System

The R S T algorithms structures of usual digital regulator are researched and the results are given. It has solved the problem of relationship between the digital regulator and dynamical characterization of system. It is a direct and quick algorithm of the digital regulator based on the characteristic equation of control system. This algorithm is especially suitable for numerical simulation of control system which contains digital regulator.[WT5HZ]     

Fuzzy Optimization for Reliability Apportionment of Series system

This paper points out that there are many factors which affect the reliability optimization apportionment of the series system which is in nature a problem of fuzzy optimization. In the light of this paper puts foreword a method for the reliability apportionment of the series system. Moreover, it is discussed with fuzzy optimization apportionment of the system reliability under the conditions of given source constraints.     

A Boundary Element Method for the Electrostatic Field with Anisotropic Media

The boundary-value problem for the electrostatic field with anisotropic media is formulated on the basis of introducing the medium property coefficient tensor. The boundary integral equations for this problem are deduced by the weighted residual method. The elementary solutions to the two-and three-dimensional anisotropic problems are derived. A two dimensional example with anisotropic media is given.     

Mixed Finite Element Formulation of the Linear Biphasic Theory for Soft Tissues

The behavior of soft tissues of human musculoskeletal system can be describedwith the biphasic model based on a continuum theory of mktures. This paper. using Galerkin weight-ed residual method.obtains a mixed finite element formulation for the linear biphasic model of smalldeformation. and. in turn. gives out the iterative scheme solving the system equations. The results ofnumerical analysis for the constrained compression problem are consistent with those obtained bytheory. which illustrates the correctnas and feasibility of the derived mixed finite element formula-tion. concludingly. this formulation provides an effective means of numerical analysis for the motfonmechanism of human articulating joints.     

A BOUNDARY ELEMENT METHOD FOR THE NEUMANN PROBLEM OF HELMHOLTZ EQUATION BY USE OF A DOUBLE LAYER POTENTIAL IN R~3

This paper presents a new numerical solution for Neumann problem of Helmholtz equation in R~3. The expression of the solution for this problem is obtained by use of a double layer potential and it leads to a Fredholm boundary integral equation of the first kind. Then, the existence and unicity of the integral equation which is equivalent to the boundary value problem are obtained in a suitable Sobolev space. Finally, a variational form which is equivalent to the integral equation is applied to the construction of a finite element method and the error estimate is given.     

A Non-overlapping Domain Decomposition Method for Scattering Problems

In this paper, a domain decomposition method for the exterior Helmholtz problem is investigated. The unboundary domain is divided into some non overlapping subdomains. The natural integral operator is used as the artificial boundary conditions on the exterior boundary of the computational domains. The convergence of the algorithm is given in the sense of energy norm. Finally, the discrete problem is discussed and some numerical examples are presented.

Coupled Thermo-Elastic Contact Finite Element Method and It''s Application in Gearing

A new finite element method is presented in this paper to analyze the thermo- elastic contact problem with heat input on meshing tooth faces. The computational model of meshing gear has been established and the frictional heat input on meshing tooth faces is estimated. In addition, 2-D finite element analysis program for this kind of problem is listed. The test and practical examples are given to show the validity and versatility of this method.     

CYLINDRICAL BENDING PROBLEM OF RECTANGULAR PLATES STIFFENED ON ONE SIDE ALONG ONE DIRECTION WITH ELASTIC SUPPORTS AND TENSILE FORCES

On the basis of the calculated results of accurate analytic solution of stiffened rectangular plates,the general equations of cylindrical bending of the plates with tensile forces are established for engineering practice.Its solution combining with engineering problem is given for the special defor-mation conditions of elastic supports.In the paper,the numerical example is given and compared with references,it shows that the results are available.     

The Operator Solution of Liouville-Hill Equation and Its Applications

With operator solution. recursion formula of series solution to Liouville-Hill equation is given, furthermore the paper discusses the remainder term of the series and its estimation. and the existence and uniqueness of the solution is obtianed. Next,we discuss the inital problem of the n on homogeneous Hill equation with damping terms, which is a forced oscillation problem, and the series sloution and the sufficient conditions of its convergence are also given.     

Material Recombined System Based on Genetic Algorithm

A new and better mathematical model is presented, which is based on the in-depth analysis of the material recombined system and the sufficient expenses produced during the material recombined. In order to solve the problem, the authors choose the genetic algorithm, put forward a improved coding method, and get satisfactory answer through experiments. Analysis of Unbalanced Data by Mixed Linear Models Using the mixed Procedure of the SAS System

Unbalanced data are a common problem in plant research based on designed experiments. Such data are often conveniently analysed using linear mixed models. Recent developments in mixed model theory have been implemented in major packages. This paper describes the use of the mixed procedure of the SAS System for the analysis of designed experiments. Special emphasis is given to the specification of options as depending on the assumed mixed model and on the unbalancedness in the data. In addition, we consider a compact representation of multiple comparisons for unbalanced data (letter display). Two small data sets are used to exemplify the methods.

A system of governing equations for spatially curved rods are derived in natural coordinate,and an analytic solution to the statically determinate problem is given.Based on the solution,a generalized displacement model for element of curved bars is developed,which is convergent and accurate.

A Interpolation Algorithm for Constrained Two-dimensional Non-Guillotine Cutting Stock

The characteristic and shortcoming of the common algorithm of constrained two-dimensional Non-Guillotine Optimal cutting stock problem are analysed. Base of designing a model of cutting stock problem, a new heuristic algorithm applying column generation algorithm and simulated annealing algorithm is shown. The presentation of the processing steps and the data structure prove that the algorithm has fast computing speed and excellent result. An examples by the algorithm are given, which indicates the algorithm is new and effective.
