Chemical changes in cell wall components of bamboo internode during steam explosion process were analyzed to investigate self-binding mechanism of binderless board from steam-exploded pulp. More than 30% of xylose on initial mass, which is a major hydrolyzate of bamboo hemicelluloses, was lost after steam explosion treatment. Bamboo lignin is characterized by the presence of ester- and/or ether-linked p-coumaric acid to lignin. The content of phenolic hydroxyl groups of lignin isolated from steam-exploded pulp was characterized 2.3 times higher than those of the extract-free bamboo internode due to the cleavage of β-O-4 linkages. Alkaline nitrobenzene oxidation of the bamboo lignin gave vanillin, syringaldehyde and p-hydroxybenzaldehyde as major products. The content of p-hydroxybenzaldehyde decreased after steam explosion treatment, indicating the cleavage of ester- and/or ether-linked p-coumaric acid. The total yield of erythronic and threonic acids in ozonation products of the extract-free bamboo internode lignin was 268 mmol (200 g lignin)−1, while those of lignins in the steam-exploded pulp and powdery fraction were 96 and 129 mmol (200 g lignin)−1, respectively, suggesting the significant cleavage of β-O-4 linkages during steam explosion treatment. The cleavage of β-O-4 linkages was also confirmed by 1H- and 13C-NMR spectroscopic observations.  相似文献

The decomposition rates of certain dominant litter species inan undisturbed oak-conifer forest in the Kumaun Himalaya wereinvestigated by enclosing pre-weighed, newly senesced leavesin litter bags, placing these bags on the forest floor and determiningthe weight loss by recovering the bags at monthly intervals.Among the species examined, Daphne cannabina decomposed fastestand Cupressus torulosa decomposed most slowly. The former took6 months for complete decomposition, while Cupressus torulosadecomposed to about 72 per cent in 18 months. A linear combinationof rainfall and temperature explained 80 per cent of the variabilityin monthly weight loss. The rate of decomposition was also relatedto the initial chemical composition of the litter. Initially,several constituents showed a significant relation with decomposition;these are nitrogen, calcium, water soluble compounds, totalnonstructural carbohydrates, lignin, acid detergent cell wallcomponents and fibre. Of these, lignin and fibre contents showeda negative relation with weight loss while the others were positivelyrelated. As decomposition progressed, only nitrogen, lignin,ADCW and fibre content remained important. With further lapseof time only two constituents, nitrogen and lignin, remainedimportant. Among these the effect of nitrogen declined withtime while that of lignin increased. A linear combination ofnitrogen and lignin explained 59 per cent variability in theannual weight loss.  相似文献

Bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) internode was subjected to steam explosion treatment to produce an excellent fiber for binderless boards. Lignin was isolated from extract-free bamboo meal with Björkman’s procedure and steam-exploded pulp. The self binding-mechanism was discussed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermo-gravimetry (TG), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and analytical ozonation. It is well-known that steam explosion treatment liberates lignin from the cell wall to the fiber surface, which is the most important component relevant to binderless board production. Results of TG and DSC analyses showed that steam-exploded bamboo pulp started mass loss at lower temperature compared to bamboo internode meal. The thermal softening temperature of lignin prepared from steam-exploded pulp was much lower than that of lignin prepared from extract-free bamboo meal. This suggests that intermonomer linkages of lignin, especially β-aryl-ether linkage which is the major intermonomer linkage of lignin, were cleaved during steam explosion treatment resulting in low molecular weight phenolic compounds. The cleavage of β-aryl-ether intermonomer linkage of lignin was also confirmed by ozonation analysis.  相似文献

The progress of lignin oxidation during oxygenalkali bleaching of pulp was evaluated by the method based on the difference between permanganate consumption of original pulp and that of the mixture of pulp and effluent after oxygen-alkali bleaching. By low-consistency oxygen bleaching of softwood kraft pulp, the permanganate consumption decreased very little. When the kappa number of the pulp was halved (from 25.4 to 13.4), the decrease in permanganate consumption of 1 g pulp was only 1.22ml of 0.02mol/l potassium permanganate. This value was smaller than that obtained for the oxygen-alkali treatment of a corresponding amount of isolated residual lignin, 6.40ml. This was not due to the slow oxidation of lignin in pulp but to the formation of permanganate-consuming substances from carbohydrates. Those newly formed substances cannot be oxidized by oxygen-alkali treatment. Taking these facts into account, lignin originally present in pulp was found to be oxidized well. 对氧碱漂白过程中木质素氧化进行定量分析,分析方法是基于氧化前后高锰酸钾消耗量的变化。该方法对溶出残余木质素的氧化结果分析发现其呈明显3个阶段:第一段木质素氧化的当量电荷数约4~5/木质素单元;木质素总氧化电荷数大约为9/木质素单元。这些数据以及甲氧基的脱除(75%)均表明:木质素的氧化不仅发生在酚型木质素单元,同时也发生在非酚型结构单元上。只有第一阶段氧化反应是木质素与氧气直接反应,而在第二、三阶段主要是协同氧化作用,氧化反应过程中产生的活性氧基团扮演了一定角色。通过对低浓度针叶材硫酸盐浆的氧漂研究发现:当卡伯值下降一半(25.4至13.4)时平均每个木质素单元氧化3当量电子,氧漂后的纸浆中仍然有大量未被氧化的残余木质素。定量地证明了在氧漂过程中木质素氧化是脱木质素反应的实质。  相似文献

Peroxidase activity staining localized at hyphal tips of white-rot fungus Phanerochaete crassa WD1694 that was cultivated in a shaken liquid culture containing unbleached kraft pulp was investigated. Manganese peroxidase was detected in culture solution, washing solution of mycelium, and mycelial extract. Glyoxal oxidase was detected only in mycelial extract and was not detected in culture solution. Addition of hydrogen peroxide generated peroxidase activity staining in the culture solution. Addition of catalase resulted in no staining in the culture of P. crassa WD1694, and the addition of methylglyoxal resulted in marked peroxidase activity staining at hyphal tips and on hyphal wall. In an optimized culture, glyoxal oxidase was produced in culture solution. Although the production of glyoxal oxidase and manganese peroxidase had a positive correlation, the secretion and the peak of glyoxal oxidase was observed 3 and 2 days later than those of manganese peroxidase. The N-terminal sequence of purified glyoxal oxidase had very high homology with that of P. chrysosporium. These results elucidated the hydrogen peroxide supply system in lignin biodegradation by white-rot fungi, i.e., while remaining on the hyphal cell wall, glyoxal oxidase provides hydrogen peroxide to manganese peroxidase that had diffused into the culture solution beforehand.  相似文献

During refining of mechanical pulp, a process occurring at high speed at temperatures of 140–160°C, the flexibility and bonding ability of wood fibres are increased. To understand the mechanical behaviour of the fibres in this operation, deformations at low speed of wet wood specimens at 50°C were studied under two different combinations of shear and compression loadings. The results were compared with the behaviour of wet wood in pure compression. Some features of the deformation that occurred in earlywood were analysed using an image analysis procedure. During pure compression the cell walls bend independently of the shape of the fibre cells and their cell wall thickness. Under combined shear and compression, however, mainly the corners of the fibre cells get deformed. In a second deformation performed in compression, the fibre cells follow the same deformation pattern as given by the first deformation type whether in compression or in combined shear and compression. The interpretation was that permanent defects in the cells themselves were introduced already in the first load cycle of the wood samples. The load combination with lower shear gave the same permanent strain as the case of pure compression but using less energy.  相似文献

Several indigenous and exotic browse species with potential for development of agroforestry technologies in the humid tropics of west Africa have been identified, but information on their fodder yield and quality, and how this is influenced by age of coppice regrowth is scanty and limited to a few species. The effect of age of coppice of regrowth (8, 12, 16, and 20 weeks) on fodder yield, and concentrations of crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fibre (NDF), acid detergent fibre (ADF), acid detergent lignin (lignin), and acid detergent ash (ADF-Ash) in the fodder of 27 browse species was studied in the humid forest zone of southeastern Nigeria. The fodder yield, and concentrations of NDF, ADF and lignin increased (p<0.05), while CP declined (p<0.05) with increasing age of coppice regrowth for all the browse species. The ADF-Ash concentrations of eight browse species increased linearly (p<0.05), while that of 19 species followed a quadratic (p<0.05) trend in response to increasing age of coppice regrowth. Bauhinia monandra, Calliandra calothyrsus, Dalbergia sissoo, Enterolobium cyclocarpum, Grewia pubescens, Gliricidia sepium, Leucaena leucocephala, Senna spectabilis, and Terminalia superba were identified to have high potential for the development of integrated crop-livestock agroforestry technologies in the west African humid tropics based on fodder yield, concentrations of CP, NDF, ADF and lignin. Coppice regrowth of the promising species could be harvested between 16 and 20 weeks to maximize yield and quality of the fodder. The results showed that fodder yield and chemical composition could be used to identify browse species for the development of agroforestry technologies for smallholder crop-livestock farming systems.  相似文献

We compared the chemical composition of wood fibres and fibre surfaces of several eucalypt species and hybrids originating from various growth sites in South Africa. The objective was to test for differences in chemical surface composition due to genetics or site with the ultimate aim to facilitate a tailor-made supply of wood for pulping that results in an optimal blend of fibres that can be pulped together with similar yields. This, however, requires a sound knowledge of the fibre properties. The surface functionality on the single fibre level is a key property, because it determines how good inter-fibre bonding will be when paper is formed, which depends amongst other fibre properties on the amount of free hydroxyl groups that are available and therefore on the cellulose content on the fibre surface. The cellulose and lignin content on the fibre surface were determined with chemical force microscopy, a variation of atomic force microscopy. Since the general bulk composition of the fibre and the surface composition might differ, both parameters were determined. We found significant differences in the cellulose and lignin content on fibre surfaces, with regard to genotype and site, respectively. In some, but not all, cases, the surface composition of wood fibres followed the bulk composition, and differences were generally more pronounced. Differences due to genotype were significant, especially with regard to the surface lignin content—but variation due to site was also distinctly recognisable. This variation in surface functionality could be the reason why some pulpwood blends result in a lower pulp yield and different quality.  相似文献

多种用途树种和灌木在农业系统中有重要的作用,在减少饲料供求矛盾和补充世界各地饲料赤字,提高动物生产力方面有很大的潜力。同时,评价草料各种营养特性,利于生产定量平衡的饲料。评价12种多种用途树种(Acacia auri-culiformis,Albizzia procera,Dalbergia sissoo,Gliricidia macu-lata,Leucaena leucocephala,Samanea saman,Azadirachta in-dica,Eucalyptus hybrida,Gmelina arborea,Michelia champaca,Morus alba,和Tectona grandis)的树叶的营养特性,其中分别包括6种豆科和非豆科树种,指标包括:常规成分,细胞壁成分,总鞣质含量,大量(Ca和P)与微量元素(Fe,Cu,Zn,Mn和Co)含量,干物质体外消化率与有机物消化率以及代谢能量值。结果表明上述各参数都有明显的差异。有机物,粗蛋白质含量,石油醚提取物总量,粗纤维含量,无氮浸出物,总灰分的平均值分别为:(92.02±0.30)%,(16.00±0.74)%,(3.05±0.13)%,(18.97±1.07)%,(54.00±1.12)%和(7.98±0.30)%。豆科树种较非豆科树种有更高的粗蛋白质含量(18.30%和13.70%)。细胞壁成分中的中性洗涤纤维素,酸性洗涤纤维,半纤维,纤维素,酸性木质素含量平均值分别为:(52.48±1.05)%,(31.72±0.97)%,(20.76±0.88)%,(16.97±0.70)%和(9.57±0.62)%。总鞣质含量为(4.22±0.32)%。Ca与P之比合理,多种树种叶中Fe和Mn含量丰富,P,Cu,Zn和Co水平低于标准水平含量。干物质体外消化率与有机物消化率平均值分别为(48.96±1.30)%和(50.69±1.36)%。代谢能量值为(6.95±0.11)MJ·kg-1。粗蛋白质含量与干物质体外消化率与有机物消化率和代谢能量值成正相关;而这三个参数与中性洗涤纤维素,酸性洗涤纤维,和酸性木质素含量成负相关。结果表明:银合欢可作为优良饲料的树种,因为它具有最高的干物质体外消化率与有机物消化率以及代谢能量值(65.20%,67.66%和7.95MJ·kg-1),而Gliricidia maculata,Morus alba,Azadirachta indica,Dalbergia sissoo和Samanea saman可做较好类型饲料的树种,其它树种做饲料质量差。  相似文献

Genetic parameters were estimated for wood and growth traits in two 19-yr-old clonal trials and a 40-yr-old full-sib progeny trial of Norway spruce [Picea abies (L.) Karst.]. In the clonal trials high (>0.4) broad-sense heritabilities were found for wood density traits, lignin content, number of internal cracks, growth traits, spiral grain and number of resin canals. Moderate (0.2–0.4) heritabilities were found for tracheid lumen diameter and cell wall thickness, microfibril angle and tracheid length, while low heritabilities (<0.2) were found for pulp yield, fibre strength, wood stiffness and wood colour. Lignin content and pulp yield showed low genetic variation, whereas the genotypic coefficient of variation for most other traits ranged between 5 and 15%. Most traits showed low levels of genotype by environment interaction. Among the wood properties, latewood proportion, earlywood density and ring density showed significant, adverse correlations with volume in both clonal trials.  相似文献

利用生物酶(如漆酶)预处理可以降低化学浆的残余木素量,减少制浆中的能源消耗,提高纸浆强度特性和光泽度等。在介体参与下,漆酶能够降解木素,使残余木素的摩尔质量减少、木素中的酚羟基减少、羰基和羧基增加,对后续的漂白过程起到活化木素的作用。漆酶等酶活系统能将漂白废水中的有机氯化物转变成无机氯和CO2,破坏发色基团组织和结构,降低漂白废水中的TOCl、BOD、COD和色度。漆酶在氧气和介体存在下能使木素产生自由基的缩合,提高纤维间的粘合性,改善高木素含量和纸浆的性能。漆酶作为一种非专一型聚酚酶,在一定程度上可与树脂反应,可以催化好氧污染物的酚羟基基固,生成苯氧自由基和水。  相似文献

Near-infrared (NIR) scanning technology is regarded as a potential tool for rapid determination of wood properties, which can substitute time-consuming and costly traditional methods. Pinus patula is the most important softwood species in South Africa, and this study is aimed at developing NIR calibration models for quick prediction of its pulp yield and chemical composition. A total of 85 trees from 17 plots, covering the range of site conditions in the Mpumalanga escarpment area, were sampled. Two samples were taken from each tree: a 1 m billet above breast height and a 20 mm disc at breast height. The billet was pulped using the kraft pulping process to determine pulp yield. The disc was ground into sawdust and the chemical composition was determined using conventional wet chemistry. Sawdust was scanned on a NIR spectrophotometer to produce NIR spectra. Calibration models to predict pulp yield, cellulose and lignin content were developed by applying chemometrics and partial least squares regression. Validation and determination of prediction accuracy of the models were performed using independent data. The prediction of cellulose and lignin were acceptable with correlations of determinations (r 2) of 0.71 and 0.70 respectively. Standard errors of prediction were generally low (less that 0.86) for all the models. The prediction r 2 for both total and screened pulp yield were only 0.62. Although the cellulose and lignin models can be used with confidence, the expansion of the sample size for follow-up research must be considered in order to increase the variability of tested wood properties and improve the prediction strength of the models. The NIR calibration provided in this study can contribute to the efficient examination of forest site-to-wood quality relationships that would enhance precision forest management and wood processing efficiency.  相似文献

Summary Raman microprobe spectroscopy was used to study the concentration of lignocellulosics in the cell corner middle lamella. Spectra obtained from 1.6 m regions, from 30 cell corner middle lamellae of both birch and spruce, showed the presence of lignin. However, the relative concentration of lignin to cellulose varied considerably. These results corroborate the view expressed in previous reports of the need for caution in using the lignin concentration values of cell corner middle lamella as a internal reference for studying the variation of lignin concentration in other morphological regions of the cell wall, such as secondary cell wall layers.The use of trade or firm names in this publication is for reader information and does not imply endorsement by the U.S. Department of Agriculture of any product or service  相似文献

Summary Fines removed from the surfaces of Pinus radiata fibres by beating were identified and characterised in terms of microfibril orientations in the surfaces of beaten fibres. Fines fractions subjected to chemical analyses were selected so that chemical component data could be related to specific layers or lamellae in fibre walls.Carbohydrate distributions within the walls of kraft fibres differed from those in bisulphite fibres. In the kraft fibres, glucomannan increased and other hemicelluloses decreased from the primary wall to the outer lamellae of the S2 layer of the secondary wall. In the bisulphite fibres, hemicelluloses were uniformly distributed throughout the outer wall layers, i. e., the primary wall and the S1 and outer lamellae of the S2 layers of the secondary wall. More galactan but less arabinan, xylan, and glucomannan were found in the outer layers than in the inner layers of the bisulphite fibres. Carbohydrate distributions were determined for a range of bisulphite pulp yields (53 to 80 percent).The outer layers of the bisulphite fibres contained more Klason lignin than the inner layers. A trial set-up with methods for sampling, treatment and analysis of small wood chips are presented in this paper, to determine important wood and fibre properties, like basic density, dry density, volume swelling of wood, Kraft pulp yield, fibre length, fibre coarseness, fibre width, lumen width and fibre wall thickness. The required time for one sample is about 1.5 man-hour, but this requires relatively larger series and trained personnel. Acceptable measurement accuracy is achieved when the volume of the wood sample is at least 1.5 ml, except that of wood volume swelling. To gain acceptable measurement accuracy for volume swelling, the wood volume should be increased to at least 3 ml, and preferably more than 5–6 ml per sample. The level of pulp yield and wood density do not show a significant effect on the measurement accuracy for fibre cross-section dimensions. Fibre coarseness, on the other hand, has a significant influence on these accuracies. A double measurement of fibre coarseness will improve the accuracy to an acceptable level. Summary Selective labeling of p-hydroxyphenyl-, guaiacyl-and syringylpropane moieties in protolignin was achieved by administration of corresponding 3H-labeled monolignol glucosides to differentiating xylem of pine. The growing process of the protolignin macromolecule in the specific morphological region was visualized by application of high resolution microautoradiography to the selectively labeled wood tissue.p-Hydroxyphenyl lignin is formed mainly in the compound middle lamella and cell corner in an early stage of cell wall differentiation. There are two peaks of deposition of guaiacyl lignin in the compound middle lamella at an early stage and in the secondary wall at a late stage. The content of condensed guaiacyl units is higher in the middle lamella than in the secondary wall lignin. Syringyl lignin is formed mainly in the inner layer of the secondary wall in a late stage as a minor structural moiety. During the formation of the cell wall, protolignin grows under definite biological regulations to a heterogeneous macromolecule which consists of various structural moieties arranged in a regular manner. The origin of the heterogeneous structure was explained as a result of the biogenesis of protolignin in the cell wall.  相似文献

利用8%Li Cl/DMSO木质纤维全溶体系,溶解经乙二胺溶液预处理后氧脱木质素碱法麦草浆,探讨乙二胺预处理对浆料性能的影响,及预处理后浆料在8%Li Cl/DMSO全溶体系中的溶解-再生性能。研究发现:乙二胺预处理在保留较高结晶度时可改变浆料结晶结构,氧脱木质素碱法麦草浆经乙二胺预处理后可完全溶解于8%Li Cl/DMSO溶液,随着木质素含量的增加,溶解所需时间延长;溶解后样品经水可再生,产物得率为59.19%~61.88%,溶解-再生过程中木质素、多糖、灰分和硅都得到较好保留。  相似文献

试验对6年生黑荆木材硫酸盐法制浆工艺进行正交试验,得出最佳制浆工艺为:用碱量15%,硫化度20%,最高温度165℃,保温时间120min,细浆得率51.61%,硬度12.08K值,黑液残碱4.70g/L,纸浆纤维平均长度0.845μm,平均纤维宽度15.84μm,长宽比为53.33,接近黑荆木材的纤维形态;利用该纸浆手工抄纸,定量为5.86g/m2,纸张拉力为3.34kg,裂断长度为3842m,表明黑荆木材适宜作为造纸的原料。  相似文献
