[目的]明确两种接种方式(自然迁飞和人工挂袋)下角倍蚜虫瘿的数量和分布及其对寄主盐肤木枝叶生长的影响。[方法]在自然迁飞和人工挂袋形成虫瘿的盐肤木林内,按随机区组设计设置样地,在样地内随机选取有虫瘿树和无虫瘿树,分别测量和统计盐肤木及虫瘿的生长指标,采用方差分析虫瘿对盐肤木生长的影响。[结果]在自然迁飞和人工挂袋两种接种方式下,盐肤木单株虫瘿数没有显著差异。但人工挂袋时,单片复叶的平均虫瘿总体积为170.92±14.85 cm~3、小叶总面积为616.26±32.73 cm~2,显著高于自然迁飞形成虫瘿的总体积85.82±9.40cm~3和小叶总面积482.81±28.51 cm~2。表明人工挂袋接种可以增加虫瘿的总体积,从而提高角倍产量;同时,较大体积的虫瘿还促进了盐肤木小叶的生长,使小叶面积增大。[结论]角倍蚜虫瘿对寄主盐肤木的枝叶生长具有促进作用,且这种生长促进与虫瘿的体积呈正相关。与自然迁飞接种相比,人工挂袋接种更能发挥盐肤木的生长和结倍潜力,提高角倍产量。  相似文献

The effects of shoot size and differences in budburst phenology ofQuercus serrata trees on the spatial patterns of galls were investigated for two cynipid species: the sexual generation ofAndricus moriokae and the agamic generation ofAphelonyx glanduliferae. There were marked differences in budburst phenology, but these did not affect the gall density on the tree. The galls of both cynipids showed a contagious distribution in their respective trees, but different abundance patterns under high gall density. The mean number of galls ofA. glanduliferae over a shoot size range was positively correlated with shoot size. More galls ofA. moriokae appeared on larger shoots on trees on which many buds had started growing before oviposition by the agamic adults. In the case of a tree on which a few buds had burst by the time of oviposition, the mean numbers ofA. moriokae galls on shoots of particular size ranges depended on the frequency of shoots in the size class. These results suggest that, although these cynipids prefer to attack larger shoots within a host tree, they may exhibit plasticity in their preference in response to changes in budburst phenology of the host plant relative to the time of oviposition.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the differences in infections caused by Agrobacterium tumefaciens in a conifer, Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), and in a non-host deciduous species, silver birch (Betula pendula). All the Agrobacterium tumefaciens strains tested caused crown-gall formation in both tree species, but the infection rates varied remarkably. In Scots pine, the development of galls was rare, and slower than in silver birch. Inoculation into the base of the stem were the most successful in gall induction. Silver-birch galls were large, often surrounding the whole stem, in contrast to Scots pine galls, which were characterized by their small size and neck-like connection with the host plant. In silver birch, no other morphological changes could be seen. In Scots pine, abnormal phenotypes with proliferating short shoots above the galls were observed during the second and third growing season. The results indicate that, of the two non-host tree species, the deciduous one, silver birch, is more susceptible to an A. tumefaciens infection than the conifer, Scots pine. The matrix for A. tumefaciens infection in silver birch differs from that in Scots pine, since the terpene compounds of Scots pine seem either to kill the agrobacteria or to suppress their growth. The differences between the species could be partly caused by their difference in sensitivity to phytohormones. These features reflect evolutionary incompatibility between A. tumefaciens and a gymnosperm.  相似文献

To test the hypothesis that galls resulting from infection by western gall rust [Endocronartium harknessii (J. P. Moore) Y. Hiratsuka] on lodgepole pine [Pinus contorta Dougl. ex Loud.] create hydraulic constrictions that reduce tree growth, the hydraulic conductivity (Kψ; m2 s?1 Pa?1), leaf area (AL) and sapwood area (AS) were measured on 6‐ to 15‐year‐old trees having galls encircling 0–100% of the stem. Increases in gall encirclement were accompanied by decreases in Kψ, foliar nitrogen concentration, AL and AS, although the AL:AS ratio remained constant. Dye flow patterns through galled stem sections indicated that water moved primarily through the non‐galled portions of the stem. In a second field study, xylem and phloem wounds were applied to 13‐year‐old galled and non‐galled trees on either the galled or non‐galled side of the tree. Although both galls and xylem wounds reduced Kψ, radial and height growth were unaffected. In aggregate the two experiments showed that although trees are quite tolerant to small galls and short term reductions in Kψ, the disruption of water movement by larger galls may be sufficient to initiate a chain of events leading to tree death, especially in very dense stands with high levels of intraspecific competition.  相似文献

Population levels of Ips typographus in 8 Danish forest districts were monitored by pheromone traps and baited trees in 1988 and 1989. The number of trees with spontaneous colonization was also registered. All monitoring results were below earlier defined “risk thresholds”;, and accordingly no serious damage was found. Mean catch ranged from 3406 to 12043 beetles per trap group, and induced colonization averaged 1.08 trees per tree‐baiting site. Trie number of colonized trees (total infestation) ranged from 3.5 to 63.2 trees per 100 ha forest. Correlation was found between mean catch and induced colonization (r=0.56), and between induced colonization and total infestation (r=0.65). Accumulated data from 1988–89 and 1984–86 showed good correlation between catch size and number of infested standing trees (r=0.91). From 1988 to 1989 no significant changes occurred, apart from a shift in host material from standing trees to windfalls and timber. I. Typographus monitoring on regional levels is possible also under non‐epidemic conditions. With a limited number of monitoring units, trapping, tree‐baiting and registrations of infestation in exposed edges can give estimates sufficiently accurate to be of practical use to local foresters.  相似文献

There has been an outbreak of lentil gall midgeC. lentis on lentil in Czechoslovakia since 1984. Its extent and cause are given below. Infestation symptom—the gall—is described. The level of damage is defined as percent rate of the amount of galls and flower buds containing eggs ofC. lentis from the amount of pods, flowers, galls, flower buds containing eggs and flower buds not containing eggs. As estimation is taken mostly at the end of lentil vegetation the level of damage is simplified to percent rate of the amount of galls from the amount of galls and pods. The level of damage of small parts of lentil stands can achieve 80%. Single plants with 95% level of damage were found. Proportional dependence of thousand-kernel weight on the level of damage was found out. Two functions of dependence of yield on the level of damage were compared: a simple linear one and a quadratic one which included the dependence of thousand-kernel weight on the level of damage. The generally valid linear function of dependence of yield y on the level of damage x is recommended: y=0.01 e (100?x) where e means yield at 0% damage level. Recent distribution area of this species in Czechoslovakia is given. In 1985–1988 the average level of damage of lentil stands from outbreak centre ranged from 3.08 to 52.05%. The average yield losses in Czechoslovakia were 5.49% in 1985, 4.98% in 1986, 2.87% in 1987 and 3.97% in 1988. Concentration of lentil fields in a small area was recognized as the main cause of the outbreak ofC. lentis in Czechoslovakia.  相似文献

This study addresses the relationship between gall morphology and some fitness components in the agamic generation of Aphelonyx glanduliferae. Larger A. glanduliferae adults that showed higher potential fecundity developed in larger galls. No fewer than 60% of A. glanduliferae individuals were attacked by parasitoids, and cynipids in smaller galls suffered more parasitoid attacks. Thus, large galls are likely to provide considerable food resources and avoidance of parasitoid attack for A. glanduliferae. Both thickness of gall walls (barrier to the parasitoid attack) and diameter of larval chamber (open space for the cynipid larva to move away) were positively correlated with gall size. Mean gall-wall thickness was significantly larger in galls harboring a living cynipid than in those harboring a living parasitoid, but the difference in the mean larval-chamber diameter was not significant. These results suggest that gall-wall thickness plays an important role in avoiding parasitoid attacks. However, the mean ovipositor length of the abundant parasitoid species exceeded the maximum gall-wall thickness, indicating that these parasitoids are potentially able to attack large galls. The higher rate of parasitoid attack in smaller galls suggests that (1) an individual of A. glanduliferae, even if it grows in a small gall, is large enough to be a host for parasitoids, and (2) parasitoids can oviposit more easily on smaller galls of A. glanduliferae, which have thinner walls.  相似文献

We describe the relationships among patterns of abundance of galls, survivorship, and mortality factors in the sexual generation of a cynipid wasp, Andricus moriokae, and detail the impacts of abundant parasitoid species on the survivorship of the cynipid in relation to the abundance patterns of galls. The mean number of galls per shoot, the frequency distribution of number of galls on a single shoot, and the mean number of galls per shoot in respective shoot size classes (the number of leaves per shoot) did not differ significantly between two sample trees. The relative impacts of the three mortality factors differed between trees, having different consequences for the survivorship of the cynipid. The rate of parasitoid attack, the main cause of mortality, was higher in the tree on which the cynipids survived better. On the other hand, the mortalities caused by gall predation and gall abortion were higher in the tree with the lower survival rate of the cynipid. Galls appeared more frequently on larger shoots on both trees. However, the survival rate and the mortality rates caused by three mortality factors did not differ among shoot size classes within each tree. The species composition of the parasitoid assemblage changed with shoot size, but the patterns of change differed between trees with similar abundance patterns of galls. Thus, the survivorship and mortality factors of the cynipid were probably not related to the abundance patterns of galls.  相似文献

对角倍蚜分批上树及接种方法对虫瘿数量和分布的影响进行了研究,结果表明:(1)迁飞接种(同批上树)时,单株虫瘿数为15.65个,而迁飞加挂袋(分批上树-A)及挂袋2次(分批上树-B)时,单株虫瘿数分别为48.39个和161.84个,增加了2.09倍和9.34倍;同时单叶虫瘿数也从1.69个增加到2.77个和3.42个;单株有虫瘿复叶数从8.70片增加到17.87片和46.00片;有虫瘿枝条率从21.65%增加到59.74%和91.58%。(2)迁飞接种时,虫瘿分布于当年生枝条第1~7片复叶,其中1~5片复叶为虫瘿主要分布叶片;迁飞加挂袋及挂袋2次时,虫瘿分布于当年生枝条的第1~8片及第1~11片复叶,其中第3~6片复叶为虫瘿主要分布叶片。(3)无论是干母同批上树还是分批上树,单叶虫瘿数均以1~3个为主,虽然分批上树时单叶平均虫瘿数从1.23个增加到1.47个和2.53个,但仍然低于单叶最适虫瘿数5~6个,对虫瘿的大小和生长没有不良影响。综上所述,干母分批上树可以显著增加角倍蚜虫瘿数量,提高虫瘿的分散度,充分发挥盐肤木形成虫瘿的潜力。  相似文献

The Xingkai Lake pine (Pinus takahasii Nakai) gall rust caused byCronartium quercuum(Berk.) Miyabc: Shirai is a serious stem rust in the northeast region of China. The alternate host is oak (Quercus mongolica Fisch). Germination of both acciospores and urediospores was optimal at 12°C and occurred over a range of temperatures, from 4°C to 32°C. Teliospores germinated optimally at 16–18°C and over a range of 8–28°C. All spores germinated best under natural light and dark conditions. Direct light inhibited germination even when followed by darkness. The incubation periods of urediospores and teliospores in inoculation experiments were 6–16 days and 3–33 days respectively. Anatomical studies ofCronartium quercuum galls showed that rust hyphae freely ramify through the intercellular spaces within parenchymatous tissues of the cortex, phloem, cambium and xylem. Hyphae are perennial; large haustoria arc cylindrical with rounded or blunt ends. Among the 12 fungicides tested for control of the rust, pine-tar, pine-tar: diesel oil (1:1, 1:3, 1:5), 75% Bravo emulsion and 70% Mancozeb emulsion applied to the galls produced satisfactory results.  相似文献

We measured the protein precipitation capacity of tannins in the tissues of Quercus crispula and Quercus serrata galls induced by a cynipid (Trigonaspis sp.) to examine the nutrition hypothesis on gall induction. The protein precipitation capacity was significantly lower in the nutritive tissues of galls, on which the cynipids feed, than in ungalled sound leaves and in the outer gall tissues. In addition, the protein precipitation capacities in the leaves and in the outer gall tissues were significantly larger in Q. crispula than in Q. serrata samples, whereas that of the nutritive tissues did not differ between these oak species. These results suggest that gall induction is one of the adaptations of galling cynipids to host–plant defensive compounds, and support the nutrition hypothesis.  相似文献

Loblolly pine (Pinus taeda) seedlings from 12 full-sib families obtained from a six-parent half diallel mating design were challenged in a greenhouse using two basidiospore inocula of the fusiform rust fungus (Cronartium quercuum f.sp. fusiforme) at extremely high spore density. Each basidiospore inoculum originated from a mixed gall collection of aeciospores obtained from field-infected trees. Assessments at 4.5 months after inoculation showed that rust disease levels were high for every full-sib family and were typically above 90% for most full-sib families for both inocula. However, disease (% galled) for family E by A progeny, even at 9 months post inoculation, was lower, around 75%. A genetic model for interaction of two pairs of genes was proposed to explain the observed infection levels (% galled) in this diallel based on a gene-for-gene hypothesis. The putative genotypes of host parents and virulence compositions of mixed inocula were postulated. A bulk-segregant analysis approach based on phenotype (gall vs. no gall) was used to search for dominant molecular markers associated with the potential resistance genes in the host parents. A few candidate marker polymorphisms were observed between the gall vs. no gall bulks; however, none of the candidates appropriately co-segregated with phenotype when tested across the progeny set. An alternative model involving recessive resistance controlled by a single locus was also considered, but as with the two gene model, no markers to support the appropriateness of the recessive resistance model were observed.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung An jungen Fichten 9 verschiedener Kreuzungen wurde das Vorkommen von Gallen vonSacchiphantes abietis L. untersucht. Es traten genetisch bedingte Unterschiede in der Stärke des Gallenbefalls auf. Die Häufigkeit der Gallen war nicht vom Zeitpunkt des Knospenaustriebs abhängig. Fichten mit Gallenbesatz hatten im Durchschnitt besseren Höhenzuwachs als Bäume ohne Gallen. Gallen m Gipfeltrieb hemmten den Höhenzuwachs. Die Stärke des Gallenbefalls war positiv von dem Vorkommen von Prolepsis beeinflußt. Es bestanden Beziehungen zwischen der Häufigkeit der Gallen und der Anzahl überwinterder Läuse.
Differences in attack of the spruce gall aphid Sacchiphantes abietis L. in a Norway spruce progeny trial
The occurence of galls caused by the spruce gall aphid (Sacchiphantes abietis L.) was studied on young Norway spruce progeny from 9 different full sib families with parents from Sweden and Western Europe. The frequency of galls was found to vary significantly with genetic origin. Time for bud flushing did not influence the frequency of galls. Attacked trees had on verage better height increment than trees without galls. Galls on the leading shoot reduced height increment. The frequency of galls was positively influenced by the occurence of prolepsis. The abundance of hibernating aphids was positively correlated to the frequency of galls.

In 2004–2006, a California‐wide survey was conducted to evaluate the incidence and distribution of Cronartium ribicola, cause of white pine blister rust (WPBR), in the high‐elevation white pine forests. WPBR occurrence varied considerably within and between regions, and little to no disease was found in the Basin and Range, eastern Sierra Nevada and Transverse and Peninsular mountain ranges. Field surveys revealed no evidence of rust on Great Basin bristlecone, limber or the southern subspecies of foxtail pine. Rust incidence for western white pine was highest in the North Coast region (42% of trees surveyed), followed by the Klamath (18%) and northern Sierra Nevada (14%). For whitebark pine, WPBR incidence averaged 24% in the northern Sierra Nevada; this was considerably greater than other regions where whitebark pine was found infected. Latitudinal trends in WPBR incidence (i.e. greater in the north) may correspond with earlier introductions of C. ribicola into these regions, reflecting the southward spread of the pathogen since its introduction from the north in the early 1900s and environmental conditions favourable for infection. Distance from inoculum sources and potentially host phenology may also be important factors influencing the distribution of C. ribicola.  相似文献

Lawson cypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana), an important landscape tree, is widely planted in gardens and parks throughout Iran. Crown gall disease on Lawson cypress trees was observed in Sari and Juybar Counties, Mazandaran province, northern Iran, in 2017. Isolation from galls on potato dextrose agar (PDA) containing CaCO3 yielded bacterial colonies, the predominant types of which were purified and selected for characterization. The isolates were Gram‐negative, oxidase positive, able to grow in 2% NaCl and produced 3‐ketolactose. They hydrolysed esculin, casein and arbutin but not starch, gelatin or Tween 80. Two representative isolates were selected for PCR amplification and sequencing of DNA gyrase subunit B (gyrB) gene. In the phylogenetic tree based on the partial sequence of the gyrB gene, isolates KH1 and KH2 clustered with Agrobacterium pusense. The pathogenicity of all isolates was confirmed by inoculation on Jimsonweed (Datura stramonium) and carrot discs (Daucus carota). Confirmation of the presence of genes involved in pathogenicity was made by performing PCR with the virD2A/virD2C and VCF/VCR primer pairs which resulted in amplification of the expected 224 and 730 bp fragments in all studied isolates, respectively. A. pusense was therefore identified as the causal agent of crown and stem gall of Lawson cypress. This appears to be the first report on the natural occurrence of crown gall disease on Lawson cypress and the first record of a plant disease caused by A. pusense.  相似文献

The Siberian moth, Dendrolimus sibiricus, Tschtv. is the most harmful defoliator of coniferous forests in North Asia. The pest has already spread over the Urals and continues moving westwards. Recently, it has been recommended for quarantine in member countries by European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO). The performances of the pest on coniferous species planted in Europe were assessed on a range of potted trees corresponding to the spectrum of economically important conifers in the EU: European larch Larix decidua, Norway spruce Picea abies, Scots pine Pinus sylvestris, European black pine Pinus nigra, and the North American species: Douglas fir Pseudotsuga menziesii and grand fir Abies grandis. Larvae showed a potential to survive and complete the development on all these host tree species. Favorable hosts were grand fir, European larch, and Douglas fir that allowed higher survival, better larval development, and as a result, yielded heavier pupae and adult moths with higher longevity. Black pine was a poor host but, however, could still support larval and pupal development. Norway spruce and Scots pine had an intermediate behavior. If accidentally introduced to Europe, the Siberian moth may become especially damaging in forest stands predominated by European larch and by the North American firs. Norway spruce and especially the two-needle pines will be less prone to intensive defoliation by this species. The fact that the pest may damage the range of economically important coniferous species should be taken into account in the pest risk assessment for Europe and also for North America where the Siberian moth occurrence is considered likely.  相似文献

Management of subterranean clover (Trifolium subterraneum L.) understory grown with loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) and slash pine (Pinus elliottii Engelm.) resulted in differences in both clover yield and pine diameter. Loblolly and slash pines were planted into a subterranean clover pasture in 1984. Suppression of warm season herbaceous vegetation by applying herbicides or disking the site in late summer resulted in significantly greater subterranean clover production than on the control site where no additional understory management was applied. Pine species had no effects on clover yield. The N content of the pine foliage on the blocks managed with herbicide application or disking generally was significantly greater than the control from the 5th through 7th growing seasons (1988–1990). The dbh of the pine trees in the disked and herbicide treatments was greater than the control after the 7th growing season (1990).  相似文献

The blister rust of two‐needle pines in Europe is caused by the rust fungus, Cronartium flaccidum (Alb. Schw.) Wint. There are two races of the fungus: One host‐alternating and another pine‐to‐pine race. The latter race is considered to be more common in northern Sweden. The impact of this rust on growth of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) was investigated in three selected stands in northern Sweden. Radial stem increment was reduced 40–70% by severe attacks and 20–40% by minor attacks. The reduction of stem volume growth was probably greater. The faster growing trees seemd to be more severely attacked. Trees growing on poor soils appeared to lose almost as much growth capacity from a minor attack as from a severe attack.  相似文献
