Abstract: | One hundred Staphylococcus aureus strains from bovine mastitis were tested for susceptibility to eight antimicrobials by the paper disc diffusion method (Kirby-Bauer) and a commercially prepared dilution system. Except in the case of penicillin and possibly ampicillin, comparison of the two methods showed excellent correlation. Agreement was perfect with methicillin, chloramphenicol, gentamicin, and kanamycin. |
