Developing a working partnership for animal health and welfare

The Animal Health and Welfare Board for England was established last year to act as the main source of advice to Defra ministers on animal health and welfare policy. Its recommendations will affect the health and welfare of all kept animals, including farm animals, horses and pets. Board member Mark Tufnell, whose responsibilities include liaising with the veterinary profession, describes its objectives and way of working.
