The Current Situation,Existent Problems in China''''s Timber Market and Development Recommendations

The supply and demand situation and importation of China's timber market are presented. It is recommended to take plantation forest as raw materials in making wooden products, i.e. wood structure building and poplar sleepers in railway construction. The consumption ideas updating and adjustment of consumption framework of wood-based panel and application expansion in building will promote the development of wood based panel industry. The growth of timber industry will push forward the progress of forestry. The suggestions of expanding private forest plantation and largely importing timber from Russia and New Zealand are raised for making up the shortage of domestic supply. Meanwhile, it is suggested to reduce the importation of tropical hard wood for protecting the global ecological environment.
