Abstract: | The need to evaluate sensory function in the dog is discussed. A group of techniques that use innate behaviors (species-typical behaviors) and are effective in the evaluation of sensory function of domestic animals are described. Techniques to measure olfactory, gustatory, auditory, and visual function are included. |
