Breeding of a new storage-tolerant muskmelon variety Jiuyanmi No.1

Jiuyanmi No.1 is a new medium ripening muskmelon F1 hybrid cultivar,which is developed by crossing B72 as female parent and MB3133 as male parent.The whole growth period is about 88 days,the fruit development period is 40 days in early spring field cultivation in Jiuquan.The average single fruit weight is 2.0-2.3 kg,the yield of 667 m² is about 3200 kg.The fruit is short oval shaped and the fruit index is 1.1.The female flower is hermaphrodite flower,it has strong setting ability.Its fruit rind is write slightly yellowed at maturity with dense network.It has hard rind,good storage and transportation resistance(Its storage life can be as long as 30 days at an appropriate temperature of 18℃).The center of flesh color is orange red and the edge flesh color is green.The content of soluble solid in the center is 15.6%-16.8%.The flesh is crisp and tasty,the flavor is rich,the seed chamber is small,the proportion of edible part is high.It is suitable for cultivtion in Jiuquan,Zhangye andWuwei in Hexi irrigation district of Gansu Province.
