Abstract:In order to investigate the genotype distribution of canine parvovirus(CPV)in the Nanjing area,43 feces samples of dogs infected with canine parvovirus in a pet hospital in Nanjing in the period from 2012 to 2019 were collected as test materials.The VP2 Gene fragments of the canine parvovirus were amplified by PCR,and the amplified products were sequenced to analyze its genotype.The results showed that target fragments were amplified from all the 43 diseased materials.After sequencing,the MegAlign software was used to compare the fragments with the known genotypes of canine parvovirus in GenBank.It was found that 26 fragments of the strain were of the New-CPV-2 a genotype,accounting for 60.5%of the total;that nine were of the New-CPV-2 b genotype,accounting for 20.9%;and that eight were of the CPV-2 c genotype,accounting for 18.6%.The present study indicated that the genotype of canine parvovirus in the Nanjing area had undergone a wide variation in recent years,that New-CPV-2 a was the dominant genotype,and that both New-CPV-2 b and CPV-2 c genotypes existed simultaneously.These results provided a theoretical basis for prevention and treatment of canine parvovirus diseases in the Nanjing area.
