Abstract:To discuss the specific application of geographic information system (GIS) in the process of promoting agricultural modernization, this paper briefly summarized the studies and applications of GIS in agriculture, such as crop agricultural climate zoning, evaluation of agricultural soil and crop adaptability, meteorological disaster warning assessment, as well as crop pest risk assessment. Studies suggest that in the process of agricultural IT application and agricultural brand construction, it is particularly important to establish a comprehensive evaluation system for single-crop varieties based on the GIS and databases of soil, meteorology, ecology, pests and diseases. For the famous, special and excellent products with quality as the core characteristic, the use of GIS for suitable zoning can avoid product quality decline caused by blind promotion of planting and thus promote agricultural brand construction.
