The paper studies the effect of the neotectonic movement on the water loss and soil erosion in the Loess Plateau.The authors think the neotectonic movement has a tremendous effect on the water loss and soil erosion,mainly as the following:1. Large-scale elevation of neotectonic movement leads to frequent rain storms in the Loess Plateau,the rainfall carries away the surface soil to a greater extent.2. The elevation of the neotectonic movement leads to the deepening of erosion basis,the sudder terrain change,active fracture belt, broken belt of earthquake ect, between elevation and descent of the neotectonic movement is important element that causes water loss and soil erosion.3. The development of the patterns of the neotectonic movement decides the development of water loss soil erosion.
