Scaly Slipping-a Special Gravitational Erosion in No' 5 Subregion of the Gullied and RollingLoess Region

Scaly slipping is a special gravitational erosion taking place in transitive zone from semiarid grass vegetation to desert in No.5 subregion of gullied and rolling loess region.This kind of erosion scatter crushed soil on slope layer by layer.The area of crushed soil is usually 4 m2,the least 1 m2 and the largest 30 m2,with the depth of 10~20 cm.Scaly slipping usually takes place in arid steep section of sunslope a.nd semi-sunslope with slope gradient over 30°and this erosion is more serious in spring and summer.According to analysis,chemical weathered effect lays a foundation for this kind of erosion,severe physical effects such as drought, heat and wind are direct cause leading to this kind of erosion,slope is a necesary condition.
