李白诗《黄鹤楼送孟浩然之广陵》英译中的文化缺省

文化缺省(culture default)指交际过程中对双方共有文化背景知识的省略,这种现象在文学作品中大量存在。中国古典诗歌蕴含着大量具有民族特色的文化信息,存在很多文化缺省现象,这给译者带来了极大的困难。本文通过对比李白诗《黄鹤楼送孟浩然之广陵》的三个英译版本,分析了该诗在翻译过程中的文化缺省现象,并提出了文外加注这一解决方法。

Cultural default is defined as the absence of relevant cultural background information shared by the two sides This phenomenon exists widely in literary works,especially in classical Chinese poetry,which causes great difficulty to translators. Three English versions of Seeing Meng Haoran off from Yellow Crane Tower by Li Bai have been compared and analyzed in the hope of pointing out the cultural default during translating and putting forward the corresponding outer-text citation approach to solve it.
