Abstract:Because fruit trees and grain crops affected each other, there were changes in soil moisture, temperature and pH value as well as respiration, absorption and secretion of crop roots. Subsequently, the number of P bacteria and their P-dissolving intensity, phosphoesterase activity, solubility, and ratio of various types of inorganic P varied with the distance from trees. All of these were accompanied by competitive absorption between fruit trees and grain crops, resulting in difference of total and available P contents in different soil horizons.
