| Abstract: | Soclal factors involved in the use of language are region, dialect, social class, gender, age, ethnicity and register. By comparing and contrasting two pieces of news from the Daily Telegraph and the Mirror from the sociolinguistic point of view, further discussions on the application of sociolinguistics are also carried out. |
