Abstract: | A counter immunoelectrophoresis test (GIET) for assay of antibody to swine vesicular disease virus (SVDV) is described and compared with the serum neutralization test (SNT) and the double immunodiffusion test (DIDT). Using a preparation of complete or empty virus particles as antigen the GIET was found to be more sensitive than the DIDT. The GIET is rapid and economic, and although less sensitive than the SNT it was suggested as an initial large scale screening test for SVD antibody. |
