Market Influences Analysis of UK Government Procurement Policy for Green Forest Product

UK is the first nation to implement the policy of green procurement of forest products. Assessment on the impact of policies on market would contribute to understanding the effectiveness of the policy. Based on a brief literature review, the development process of public procurement policy and its impact in the UK was analyzed. It was found that the implementation of this policy, which has gradually expanded the government's green procurement market, has made a profound impact on the timber industry, effectively increased the supply of certified forest products but failed to bring much fluctuation in the supply of tropical timber. This study would provide a good reference for China to improve its green procurement policy and promote forest certification.
