The development of food industry is of great importance in agricultural commodity production, resource utilization, employment and agriculture exportation in the northern Jiangsu, and is a key to making a breakthrough in vigorously developing the economy.At present, the food industry in the area is at primary stage, and there are still many problems to be solved in terms of technology, personnel, provision of raw materials, management structure and so on.While stressing on natural resources exploitation and utilization as akey, the development of the food industry in the northern Jiangsu should be carried out by means of the integrations of high and low value products, production for export and for domestic markets, and food processing and feed processing in terms of development strategy.
