Abstract:Changes of immune funtions in experimentalchronic selenosis of Wistar rats had been studied. Forty six male Wistar rats, weighing 105 to 135 grams, were divided into two groups. Twenty eight rats in the experimental group were fed basal diet supplemented with 10 ppm selenium(se) of sodiumselenite, while the eighteen rats of control group were only fed with basal diet. At 47 to 54 days (early stage) and 82 to 87 days (final stage) after adminstration of excess of selenium, two groups each blood samples were examined During early and final stage, there were no significant difference between two groups in blood white cell and lymphocyte count, total serum protein and r-globulin value, but T lymphocyte(ANAE positive) count, anti-SRBC hemagglutinating antibody titer and complement activity (CH50)were significantly (P<0.00l) decreased. Percentage of lymphocyte was also significantly decreased(P<0.05).
