Abstract: | Eighteen bioclimatic factors were estimated for 315 locations within the natural distribution of Acacia mearnsii. These climatic data were used to classify the locations into 12 groups, which formed the basis for selecting 22 provenances. It was concluded that the method can assist in identifying environmental variability within a species' natural distribution and ensure that the range of climatic conditions are appropriately sampled. |
