| Abstract: | Based on the development trend of sustainable forestry in the 21st century, this paper evaluates objectively the historical contribution of traditional dry-forest system and obstacles faced in Gansu with large amount of first-hand materials. Furthermore, the modernization and sustainability of forestry as well as the improvement and reneual of present dry-farming system in Gansu are systemaically discussed from the aspects of concept, policy and technology, etc. |
