| 摘 要： | 《了不起的盖茨比》是美国20世纪文学史举足轻重的重要著作，在中国的译界则经历了由否定到肯定的曲折过程。本书在大陆和台湾的命运也截然不同。本文对《了不起的盖茨比》在中国的重译情况进行从历时和共时的分析，发现读者作为翻译活动的最终目的，对文学作品的重译的影响作用，不同时代不同地区的读者的审美期待不同，为满足不同读者的需求，重译成为必然。

| Abstract: | The Great Gatsby is a very important work in American literature history of 20 century. Its introduction and translation in China has gone through a tortuous course. In mainland and Taiwan, people treat it differently. Through a diachronic and synchronic analysis of various retranslation of the Great Gatsby in china, this paper concludes reader is the uhimate aim of translation, and it has great influence on the retranslation of literary works. Readers from different time and areas, have different aesthetic expectation. In order to satisfy different reader＇s need, retranslation is necessary. |
