| Abstract: | With the intention of explaining the theoretical significance on the conception of beef-purpose-index(BPI) for cattle science,with methods of academic history track and/or formal logic,it is pointed out the differences between BPI and cattle weight to height ratio(WHR),and,BPI is deepenning and particular WHR in intension and extension of concept.So,BPI is used to be an essential condition on distinguishing the true beef-type breed(Adult female BPI≥3.9 kg/cm)from the draft breed.In making a deductive inference, heritability of BPI might be higher(2001),and the estamited results had proved that inference(2006,h2=0.40). |
