| Abstract: | The fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster has been used as an experimental organism in studies of genetics since the early 1900s. It is now widely used not only in classical and molecular genetics but also, with many new biochemical, cell biological, and physiological techniques, to research problems requiring a multidisciplinary approach, such as those of developmental biology and neurobiology. |
