Status of Bibliographic Index in Forest Science and Technology Information of the World

An introduction is made in this prper to the intemational index system in agricultural and forest information, and to thc databanks. As to the bibliographic index inforest science and technology information, on-line index has been realized in some de-veloped countrics, and common sharing of resources is implemented in some areas. Inbibliographic index in forest science and technology information in China, priority isset on databanks. Existent foreign databanks in forest informahon should beintroduced, utilized and further developed. Problems of on-line operation and com-patibility in various types of electronic computers should be well solved.
