Lateral deflections of timber beam-columns during drying

Summary A first approximation model for the mechano-sorptive deformation of wood is used to predict the deformation behaviour of beam-columns. An experimental check showed that the theory provides a good estimate of the lateral deflections that occur during the first drying cycle of initially green beam-columns.
