Abstract: | It is well known that soil humus becomes a definite type under a definite environmental condition. When the soil condition is changed, the humus is brought into transformation, and after a period of time it is adjusted to an equilibrium state depending on the newly established condition. Previously K. Kobo 1) showed that the soil humus of newly ploughed up volcanic ash soil was transformed, increasing the degree of humification, under cultivation. In relation to this work, we studied the effect of several microorganism on the transformation of humus for the purpose of elarifying the humification process. |
