认知语言学框架下的英语专业词汇教学

摘    要:在论述认知语言学的范畴观、原型理论和隐喻认知模式的基础上,提出在英语专业词汇教学中,教师应重视基本范畴词汇的讲解,重视多义词各义项间的深层联系和重视隐喻词汇的文化阐释。积极借鉴认知语言学的相关理论,培养学生的认知意识,使学生把握语言结构的规律性和理据性,对于提高英语词汇教学的质量具有重要意义。

Abstract:By examining such basic concepts in cognitive linguistics as categorization, prototype theory and metaphor, the paper illustrates that in English vocabulary teaching for English majors, it is crucial to lay emphasis on basic category terms, extended meanings of polysemic words and cultural connotations of metaphorical expressions. In conclusion, the paper suggests that the application of some theoretical insights of cognitive linguistics to vocabulary teaching can help develop students' cog- nitive awareness, make students grasp the regularity and motivation of linguistic structures and thus stimulate English vocabulary teaching.
