Abstract:As globalization and China is approaching WTO, it is extremely important to set up maximum residue limits for pollutants in foodstuff. Now there are 4 major categories of the pollutant to be urgently dealt with for consideration, namely: harmful microorganisms; industrial pollutants, mycotoxins and phycotoxins that are most likely to occur in foods. It is imperative that setting up maximum residue limits for pollutants in accordance with international standards be of essence.
