Abstract: | Summary Seven species ofRibes were studied; all of them proved to be self-incompatible. They were found to have hollow styles and incompatible pollen tubes were not inhibited until they reached the ovary. The extent to which self-pollen tubes penetrated the ovary before being arrested varied with different species. |
