| Abstract: | Austria is a country with mountain and hills.The Alps traverses the country.Because of large scale of mining and forest harvesting,the forest vegetation declined rapidly.Owing to deforestation combined with adverse geographical,geomorphologic and climatic condition,mountain torrent,mud rock flow and avalanche occurred frequently.The history of establishing torrent and avalanche control institutions in 1884 in Austria was described.The changes of regulation,finance and organizations and their functions were introduced.So as to provide references for natural calamity prevention and control in China. |
