Potentials and Strategies of Diversified Crop Production in Dryland Dingxi County of Mid Gansu Province

The potentials and strategies of diversified crop production in Dingxi county were studied with the method of potential matrix analysis.The results indicated that the main potentials of crop diversification are composed of existing nature,infrastructure,human,and institution.The combination of existing potetials can formulate high level potentials.These potentials and prioritized strategies such as the readjustment of main crops,enhancement of agri-research and extension,development of market network, enhancement of government support and farmers' training,as well as establishment of value-added processing plants,are important to diversified crop production and income generation of the county.
