| Abstract: | Studies on the pathogens of stalk rot of corn in China and USAwere carried out in 1986.In China,139 samples were isolated.Ofthem,68.3% were Pythium,35.3% were Fusarium,4.3% were Rhi-zoctonia,2.2% were Bacteria,4.3% were Helminthosporium.In Amer-ican,60 samples were isolated.Of them,68.3% were Pythium,36.6%were Fusarium,38.8% were Bacteria,6.6% were Penicillium,5%were Helminthosporium,1.6% were Diplodia.The results of inoculationshowed that Pythium graminicola isolated from China was the pathogenof stalk rot of corn,But Fusarium graminearum was not.The isolationsof Pythium from American didn't test their pathogenicity,but we wouldbelieve that pythium caused stalk rot of corn,too. |
