| Abstract: | A syndrome involving luxation and/or fracture of the first carpal bone is described. Affected horses have a grade 1-3 lameness, which responds to intra-articular anesthesia of the intercarpal joint. Medical treatment has not be successful in relieving lameness, and the treatment of choice is surgical removal of the first carpal bone. |
