Abstract:Assara inouei Yamanaka is a serious pest of pomegranate in Yunnan. To systematically evaluate the integrated effects of spinetoram on controlling A. inouei, the direct lethality of spinetoram on the egg and neonate larvae, and post-exposure influence on the subsequent development of all stages of this pest were investigated. When the different day-old eggs ofA. inouei were treated with spinetoram by using the dipping method, with the increase of spinetoram concentration and the day-old eggs, the egg hatching rate decreased significantly, and the mortality rate of larvae increased. When the neonate larvae were treated using the feeding method, the larval mortality increased with the increasing concentration of spinetoram and the prolongation of the time after treatment, and low doses spinetoram had a significant impact on the development of surviving larvae and the subsequent stages. Low doses spinetoram could significantly prolong the developmental period of surviving larvae, prepupal and pupal periods, and significantly reduce pupation ratio, pupal weight, emergence ratio and number of eggs laid per female. Spinetoram has good insecticidal activity against the eggs and neonate larvae of A. inouei. At the same time, it also has a significant inhibitory effect on the development of subsequent stages at low doses. It could be used to control the population development ofA. inouei.
