An analysis on coupling relationship of land use benefits in Urumqi

A dynamic coupling model of land use benefits was set up according to the theory and method of general system science and the statistic data during 1995 ～ 2007 . Coupling degree was used to express coordinated relationship between socio-economic benefits and eco-environment benefits of land use. It showed ① The socio-economic benefits and eco-environment benefits of land use were better and better during the period of 1995 ～ 2007. The former rose stably and the later developed fluctuation. The coupling degree decreased before 1998. ②The coupling degrees increased rapidly from-87. 85° to 15. 86°in 1999,and the land use benefits soared from low-grade symbiosis into coordination. The coupling degrees decreased a little,but the land use benefits were relatively coordinated during the period of 2000 ～ 2007 as the coupling degrees between 1. 62° ～ 15. 86°. The land use benefits of Urumqi City were not very stability ,but they were relatively coordinated in recent years.
