THE RECENT PROGRESS AND DISCUSSION ON THE PROBLEMS IN THE SUPERIOR HIGH-YIELDING BREEDING OF RICE

This Paper is to review the recent progress and to discuss the prblems in the superior high - yielding breeding of rice.The authors pointed out that: in the superior high-yielding breeding of rice, the utilization of inter-subspeciesc heterosis should be laid a stress on, and the exploration and application of widecombatiqility genes were the key.In the approaches of utilization of the inter-subspecitic heterosis, the “Three-Line-Method” was reliable and effective, the “Three-Line-Method” was promising but not mature yet, the “One-Line-Method” was worth the continuous exploration.
