Preliminary Analysis of Types of Temperature-light Sensitivity for Ramie Male Sterile Lines

This study aimed at understanding the temperature-light sensitivity of ramie (Boehmeria nivea (L.) Gaud.) male sterile lines by observing their development under conditions of different temperature (sowing in spring and summer) and light periods (9.5h/d, 11h/d, 12.5 h/d and natural photo-period treatment respectively). The tested lines were grouped into strong light sensitivity and weak light sensitivity by means of budding promotion ratio of shorter photo-period. While these lines were grouped into strong, intermediate and weak types of temperature sensitivity according to the budding promotion ratio of higher temperature. Combined temperature and light sensitivity, the tested ramie male sterile lines might be grouped into different types. The results would be helpful to using these lines for hybridization.
